Jaspert,

Lovely looking kit you've got there. Nicely laid out room that's warm and inviting - very well done mate
beerchug.gif

Don't know where to start really . . . Dynaudios, Supratek, Bel Canto Monos, CEC transport (?), etc., etc
dribble.gif
.

Two questions . . . what brand are those single drivers, or are they a DIY? Do you swap them with the Dynaudios are they used for a certain genre of music and/or your analogue kit?

Ok, I lied - one more question - can't quite make out which brand of Amp is that on the floor between the Dynaudio and the Sub? . . . it's quite tasty looking .

Enjoy your kit.

Cheers,
Garry

It's made by a Melbourne based audio company called SGR Audio who specialises in active speakers using their own drivers and high quality plate amp. Sub amp that is good enough as hi fi stereo amplifier to some. The build is way overkill and the finishing is superd, show car kind of quality.

Thanks Garry. Pretty good guess there with the gears and the good wife says i spend too much time in there.

The small speakers are by Tekton Design (USA) using a small Fostex driver and driven by a Ming Da MC34-A07 integrated/power amp (12watt ). Got them both from ebay for some affordable tube fun and anti dote to the other mega watt SS amp and power hungry Dynaudio C1 speakers.

Hi Jaspert,

With that room ... she's certainly a good Missus indeed

!

You know, I thought that the amp was a MingDa, but I hadn't yet seen that model - looks very nice. How do you like the Fostex based moniters? Do you pair them SGR? I imagine that the two connected with the MingDa would quite nice together.

Watch out ... once you go over to the dark side (tubes)

You guys want high end? Remember, this is all in one place - but, it is not physically possible to catch it all in just a couple of pics. Oh, and there is a printed attribution of the owner - a little obscure. Oh, and there are 2 of the T300.

Yes, and yes. Probably woefully out of date, but, it fits the thread.

Yes it is, I have one. I'd let the picture poster to answer the second question. Maybe starting a thread about it would be interesting.

4. I am a little confused. I gather that is not you set up. Am i right? If so, who the hell is that lucky b*****d? I promise i wont do anything...

Yes, and, IIRC, he is STILL getting royalties on that - making him my hero

Yes, that was my impression being on the mountaintop - my wife kept him busy (talking, I guess, but, hey, I wasn't paying any attention), while I played with the goodies. The owner is a consumate host, and gentleman, with exquisite taste. Simple tastes, really - he is satisfied with the best.

Nope - I believe that is (as it were) a JVC DX-1000

That is a speaker, with it's dedicated monster amp next to it - you see the amp on the left, but not the speaker itself. Budget what you would for a car for a pair... a new car. Not American in origin.

Not mine, even in my dreams. Others have identified him - not sure how many have made the pilgrimage, but it was Haj like - except we went straight to Hell right afterwards, even got a postcard and a T-Shirt.
