That's the idea. :) Heck I didn't even buy the proper pad for the chair (using extra pillows and a comforter) because it was $30. Pft. That's $30 I'm putting in my turntable fund.

EDIT: I do plan to invest quite a bit into a much nicer chair once all the actually gear comes together.

Not too shabby! The Orpheus amp has it's own DAC right? Have you been able to compare it directly with the Violectric's?

How do you like the DA10 as a DAC with all Headphones?

I find the DA10 to be very neutral and revealing and slightly bright of neutral-sounding in the treble. It's great with headphones with a slightly dark sound signature such as the Sennheiser HD 650 or Audez'e LCD-2/3, but with headphones which are on the bright side, such as the Sennheiser HD 800, I find the DA10 contributes to things sounding a bit too bright and clinical. However, I have found that further tweaks such as recabling and the use of Amarra Hifi software can make the sound more engaging.

It would be fun to hear what all the shouting is about. Nothing like a good reference point. Of course...you get that every night now!

Lol.  I winced too when I found out I had to pay extra for those pads.  That's such a comfy chair though.  The leather looks great.

Going by the last few NY meets...I think El Doug rolls in the car version of your chair.

I don't have a digital out to test it right now... It's been a couple of weeks I have the Orpheus though.

Ahahahaha. Oh god that was great.

It does looks really good with a proper pad, but I'll only get one when it's retired as a listening chair and goes into the living room.
