Picture of px100 or px200 drivers.

The last batch of drivers made for the px100 & px200 (before the upgrade) had THIS picture superimposed by applying a coating on part of the membrane. You have to expose the driver and hold at an angle from a light source. It is of course monocrome and quite faint.

^ There you are.

(pictures perhaps a bit large to display, so i linked)

As a note, the fake PX100 that litter eBay do not look like this (if you have to get this far to tell)

They do not have a central hole, just a dome of smooth plastic, the driver ridges are also less fine, the plastic the housing there is made of is not textured like that, it is smoother, and there are no 2 holes or small rectangular indent on the edge.

Thanks man. My PX200's look just like that except without the hole.

I've had mine for a while. I got them off ebay and haven't really been concerned about their genuineness until recently.

Other ways to tell the fakes are the pads (which are crappy and thin on the fakes).

The headband pads (also crappy and thin).

The hinges of the folding mechanism (stiff and uneven)

The ridges which let the headphone snap into folded position (they aren't machined well and do not lien up in such a way that the headphones fold up readily and easily).

The slide mechanism that adjusts the length of the headband (its stiff, sticky and a pain to use , instead of smooth and easy.)

The fake drivers also ahve lower power handling and distort more readily.

Really, the only redeeming feature that the fakes have is that they do not, against all reason, sound like utter utter bollocks. Only utter bollocks.
