Phonak Audeo?

The HFI-780 are very forward, with much treble, and tons of bass. Very precise, but very revealing and brutally honest with crappy mixed/mastered tracks. The midrange is a bit recessed with them, but still revealing lots of detail. They can be fatiguing over time. "Warm" sound reproduction really doesn't come to mind with them.

I kept them because they're somewhat of the polar opposite of the HD650. I'm using them for mixing/mastering the tracks of my band and such stuff.

Right, I think I was just comparing them to my reference(HD 650). PFE are brighter with better detail all around. Not as much bass quantity(with Grey filters) as HD 650, better quality bass with PFE.

DT-880 was mentioned. I had the 2003 DT-880 which were brighter but had recessed mids compared to PFE. Bass was probably the most identical trait.

All IMO.

Soooooo......

Phonak FTW, yes? Will it stand the test of time and remain the best in its range, or do you think other companies will follow suit and offer similar bargains?

I think that Phonak with such a large experience in producing top of the line hearing aids has a great advantage over smaller companies with limited resources on I+D.

I fell for some FOTM phones earlier (Mylarones, V-Modas, etc), but I'm probably partially at fault for the FOTM-like (yet not so much participation by head-fi members) attention the Phonaks get at the moment.

I never was a fan of "anemic" phones, but always liked precision. So far the Phonaks are sure to stay, since they really cater to a larger audience than the Etymotics or q-Jays, as I see it.

Sorry about the troubles, I knew what he meant.
Are the cables very microphonic when they are being worn with the cords coming straight down?
