Philips SHE3580 IEM review--how can something sound so good for $10???

Just bought myself Philips SHE 3850 (USD 11) and A/B it with My Fischer Audio DBA02 MKII (USD 200)

overall, I'm impressed by this earphone performance,

SQ wise;

DBA 02 win for resolution for quite a margin

DBA 02 win on high and mids, before amping with my D4 Mamba, SHE3850 sounds a bit duller, after amping... I cant stop myself from smiling,

.. this baby catches up quite near with DBA02... d**n!!!.. I wish I saw this thread earlier!!!

DBA 02 win on bass speed and texture

DBA 02 win on attack and speed, 3850 decay a little bit longer

3850 sounds slightly more musical and warmer, at least to me

3850 win on bass extension, 3850 extend deep to lower region. When I listen to Yiruma's Kiss The Rain, I obviously can hear the piano key sound, which settle at very low bass region. I can't hear those with DBA02 MKII..

fit is good on me, medium tips just give me good isolation and comfort. I can't even notice it in my ear after a while.

but anyway, this is a ~USD 10 (RM 37 in my country) earphone, what can u say?
definitely if i rate for value, perhaps I can rate 11/10..

p/s.. I think apart from resolution, speed and decay.. it sounded like Sony XBA4 (USD~350)... (dont take too serious on this ok!!)

Well it's not a fair comparison because the DBA-02MKII lacks bass

My very first non-stock earphones is the Philips SHE3570. When I used this for the first time, I was disappointed, because the bass is very lacking for me. It's because my playlist at that time was full of RHCP songs, and I really like hearing Flea's funky basslines, though I like the mids and highs. After some EQing using the Equalizer app in android market(I use android smartphone as DAP), I got some decent bass for my liking, and it finally sounded ok for me, but I still think these are not enough for my tastes. I think it's either I got a defective pair, or I'm just a basshead.

Then after six months of use( travelling, sleeping, in school, at home, gym) only the left side is left working.
