Philips SHE3580 IEM review--how can something sound so good for $10???

I'm tempted to purchase SHE3680 now, since I found them for $19 but I'll wait for cyloh's impressions. I can only hope it's even better than SHE3850. I've been listening to these for about three hours this session using my Clip+. I've switched back and forth testing CX300ii and SoundMAGIC E10 / PL21 my mind is completely convinced these slaughter them on SQ and overall entertainment value. The SoundMAGIC E10 sound muffled like there's a filter over them and the CX300ii way to tinny. I just can't get over the firm bass these produce. I've put my turbines away for a later session this evening but there's something about SHE3580 that's an absolute pleasure to listen too.

Hang in there. It'll probably take a week before I get it.

Oddly enough I went on a hunt today and the stores don't stock the SHE3680 yet. Couldn't resist and bought another pair of SHE3580 instead

As for the SHE3680, I'll have to order one from a Philips distributor.

Now how about SHE9700? I heard from a nutty man that these use the same driver, same SQ yet better bass due to the tunnel like design.

The SHE3580 are now my primary IEM. Still dumbfounded each listen.

UE Triple Fi 10 with Null Audio Arete cable upgrade 10/10
SHE3580 7.5/10

No worry's I'll wait and see what you think, I have a strange feeling SHE3680 is going to be the same driver, the housing is ....let's say identical! I was thinking about buying another pair of SHE3580 too lol.

Man, I've hardly been using any other headphones in my inventory since these - not even Turbines.

Thanks for the tip, I've ordered a set to try them out :)

The stock tips are terrible for me, thin, and won't achieve a decent seal. Try something like these Sony hybird clones.

Yes, comply tips such as T400 - T500 will fit, I just tried it. the nozel is a regular 5mm found on most IEM's

where do you get these worldwide? i only saw them on ebay for $15+. and from HK (and that could be fake ones)

The link I quoted.  They had free world wide shipping included in the price, read down to where the shipping section is.

i meant the she3580 themselves...

sorry :)

Just FYI, I paid the $15 for the ebay ones.  I'm not really concerned about someone faking a cheap headphone like this, call me crazy :)

Really nice thread and review, Joe.

I'm using these cheap Phillips IEM for about 2 years now. I live in Brasil, and there's really not that big of a model range to choose from, especially on cheap budget. I currently own a probably out of production model, i think it's the model that came before the SHE line of IEMs, and they sound fantastic for the price.

I'll check on the exact model when i get home, so we can be a little bit more clear about this.

ok, thanks. do you remember the seller you got them from?

These ones are legit, who I bought mine from. I also doubt there are any fakes of this model.

I bought a pair of SHE3570 today on a whim for £10 from PC World in the uk. Only had a brief listen, but quite impressed so far for £10.

I also sent an email to Philips UK to check something. Their reply confirms that the SHE3570 is the same as the SHE3580, the only difference is the colours and the packaging. So, there was a strong suspicion that they were the same, now we have official confirmation from Philips themselves .

Hope that helps anyone that was thinking of getting some of these.

Dave.
