Philips Fidelio X2?!

It is disappointing that Philips didn't do more testing with these. It seems the leeching problem is pretty widespread and they would have caught it. I wonder if this is the cause of the lengthy backorder on this product, retooling the manufacturing to fix the problem

My x2 dyes ink too, i probably contact Phillips for exchange pads. My glasses are now blue white because of the dye...

That sucks. Aside from any possible health issues of the dye, I would be very unhappy with my other possessions getting stained. Dyes are used all the time on many products, but they shouldn't leech out. I'd be sure to tell Philips their product damaged your glasses, although I doubt they will do anything other than possibly replace the pads - which may continue to have the same problem

Well this is a bummer.
I have had the X2's for about 3-4 months.
I have not had any "leak" issues. But I do not really care to wait until they do.
Some posts here seem to claim Phillips has corrected this issue?
Are they offering exchange?
I would exchange with Phillips (if they're even offering)....or go HM5.
HM5 are toxic free I assume?

No one really knows anything. It's all made up lies, conjecture and hysteria.

Hi guys! First thanks for all good info!
After a lot of reading, I just ordered a pair of these.
Im now looking for a good dac/amp. In the $200-$400 range for desktop use.

Can you post some good combos for this phones? Not sure SS or tube would sound better... really like the idea of tube "warmth" and possibility to chg its character... But will it sound good on games?

I will use on my desktop PC, for music (mainly rock - all genres) and gaming!

Right now I got HD595 dirctly from onboard soundcard.
Thanks

Well you cant go wrong with the Schiit Modi 2 dac and Schiit Magni 2 amp.
That combo will set you back 200usd. Or get the uber versions for 300usd in total. :)

One positive experience I've found with the X2's is that lately I've acquired a new appreciation for Deep Vocal House mixes.  Never really cared for that
kind of music before but these cans really accentuate the bass and beat.

Really liking my X2 as of late.

I had to make a minor EQ adjustment though.

Had to activate the bass boost feature on my V-Moda Vamp Verza.

And then I had to adjust the EQ within my music app

Now it's perfect.

I just cut my hair. Now it doesn't get between the HP and my ears. Way better sounding. I suggest, you guys, stop caring about cables, amps, dacs... cut your hair!

PS: After years without listening any Daft Punk, I'm delighted with how 'Discovery' sounds on X2. Just amazing!

Its no surprise azo dyes have been used, they are some of the most widely used dyes in manufacturing, including makeup, food and drink.

but there are 24 azo-dyestuffs/azo-pigments that are not allowed to be used in production.
If people are worried about the bleeding/dye problem it is your right to ask for the RSL/Chemical test report of the textile they use.
