Ordered mine earlier from Amazon UK and they quoted delivery of 7th April but now had an email saying delivery has been bought forward to Sat 4th

That's great when I ordered mine this morning when they had four in stock, order first receive last, what a wonderful system.

How's sound stage compared to the hd598??? Still trying to decide, I can get an hd598 at my job for dirt cheap.

I've got the mad dog pros but I'm really trying to get away from the laid back dark signature. Maybe it's just time for the alpha.

That "dirt cheap" will be the deciding factor. Don't have hd 598, but vs 558, the x2 has bigger soundstage overall.
The 598 has good review on soundstage and imaging, so it'll depend on how much you're willing to spend

The hd598 is laid back though, but on the neutral bright side. Don't know which signature you want to get away from, dark or laid back :)

In other thread people says 598 have a much bigger soundstage than X2, not reverse

Like i said 558, not 598
If you see the review of 598 on madlustenvy thread you'll see that 598 got 9,25 on competitive aspect which mean great imaging and staging, while x2 is at 8,25.
The score is not truly reflecting the headphone merit or is comparable based on mle's introductory but you got the gist of it.

X2 got 8.25 not because it doesn't image as good as that, the 598 are lean sounding and have a higher treble quantity which makes it easier to pick out the footsteps x2 has a LOT more bass.

Exactly like what mle said, not truly reflecting and not truly comparable

But since iamxln question is about the soundstage, 598 is one of the best out there along with ad700 and akg k7 series. Unless we are speaking about hd800 lol

X2 is really great, though it won't get the best sound stage award, even x1 has bigger stage based on what some said here

Got mine a couple of hours ago.  Playing spotify premium through Fiio E10k

My first open headphones... first full-sized.

I don't know what to say really.

I'm sitting through songs that I never heard till the end before.. ever.  And time is passing quickly. But I'll elaborate more later though.

P.S.  About the E10K pairing, I did experience the small headaches someone mentioned here before, but they weren't the highs causing them in my case. Bassier songs hurt me more for some reason.  Luckily, the whole headache disappeared after 10 minutes.  I don't know know if they will return at the beginning of another session.  I think my brain is just adjusting to the sound.

EDIT: here it is in Haiku form:

Today is the day
A box was just delivered
I am stuck at work

:frowning2:

Lol, I had to wait till after work as well to get them.

Ok, I admit. I got off work earlier than usual.

I'm still listening to them.  They're very quickly growing on me. I thought I'd be confused for some days and have to wait for a ton of burn-in before I start enjoying them.
