Philips Fidelio X2 : A Review by Baycode

  X2s just got here!  I'm going to give them a solid listen and then post some first impressions.  Comfort is out of this world!

I miss its sound while I am at work and hurry up back to home in the evening no exaggeration here, it's that good

I just received these- I am in love! For a "home" headphone they hit on all cylinders for me. I was looking at the hd 600, but with these being cheaper, and not needing an amp it's perfect for me as I often listen to music on iPad. I will give a way more detailed review next week, but in terms of comfort, build quality, sound quality they are blowing me away.

I just got the Fidelio X2 Headset the other day and my first impression is that its TOO big for my head! Feels like it could fall off. Actually it slips off if I shake my head side to side so no heavy metal listening. But I was just wondering are these adjustable? If not they're going back.

Well, the X2 was made slightly bigger, well the headband that is...to accommodate bigger heads, so i guess if you have a small head, it wont suit you right. When I had my X1, it fit me well, kind of tight near the jawbones but got use to it afterwards. So if I were to get the X2, Im sure they will fit me just right.
 
I dont think they are adjustable either.

Well they're going back. Already have the return label ready. This is a serious design flaw. They literally fall of my head if I move and I have an average sized head I thought!

If they feel big, I want to bet that the X1 would fit you just right.

Probably X1 would fit You great. I have littlebit smaller head than average and X1 is perfect for me. I`m also afraid that X2 would be too big for my head. But I comfort myself with perfect desktop rig I have atm and no need to upgrade

I asked the exact same question on the other X2 thread.  Mad Lust Envy responded thusly:
 
"The AKGs are warmer and smoother sounding. Both have good soundstages. The imaging on the X2 is sharper, as the AkG is more fleshed out but more diffused. I honestly dont see a reason to have both. Both are great cans, but both work well as all rounders.

if you love the X2, dont worry about the AKGs, trust me. The X2 is a headphone that doesnt really need an alternative, unless you wanna lean heavily on warmth, or on detail orientation. Having two all rounders isnt practical.

If anything, I'd compliment it with a good closed headphone."
 
My takeaway is you can't go wrong with either one.

My takeaway is you can't go wrong with either one.  

This is exactly what i wanted to know! Can you comment on the mids? Im looking for a good jack of trades, but a hp like the he400s is too recessed for my liking

Fidelio x2 is relativy cheap and its lack of a need for an amp is appealing

Well I did order these from Amazon. They will get here Sunday. I can't believe Amazon delivers on Sundays now via USPS. My mailman isn't exactly thrilled with this development.
 
I was dithering so much I got sidetracked and actually ordered the wrong model and X1/28. Duh! So I turned around and ordered the X2/27. Does anyone know what the /27 means? 
 
I'll have to ship back the mistakenly ordered X1/28 to Amazon.
