FYI, Canadians say math.

And pop rather than soda!

We Australian's would indeed say, "I'm going to study for my maths exam next week." The field of study is mathematics rather than mathematic, so it seems to make sense to shorten it to maths rather than math.
From Wikipedia:
The apparent plural form in English, like the French plural form les mathématiques (and the less commonly used singular derivative la mathématique), goes back to the Latin neuter plural mathematicaCicero), based on the Greek plural τα μαθηματικά (ta mathēmatiká), used by Aristotle, and meaning roughly "all things mathematical".[9] In English, however, the noun mathematics takes singular verb forms. It is often shortened to math in English-speaking North America and maths elsewhere.

"I like headphones with lots of base" . . . the proper word when referring to the sound or the instrument is bass, the other one would be proper for "he stole third base".

yes... the number of base guitars i've seen for sale in the paper and on ebay

some of mine

people who whine too much about punctuation and such on the internet though on the flipside people who post long blocks of text with no punctuation or line breaks

people who grumble about someone's horrible grammar on the internet and can't spell grammar correctly

being forced to repeat myself because someone wasn't listening

people who list their pet peeves

stupid questions (they do exist and i've been asked quite a few)

people who interrupt me when i'm talking
