I prefer to use my tablet as a keyboard and track pad for fps games.

Interesting about the macros... if I didn't need software for them to work I'm sure I would have been using them a long time ago.

That's hurtful, really is..

I've had many dome keyboards that were great, and still continue to use them for games.  I just don't like mechanical feedback in games lol.

Some times I almost want to go back to some crappy membrane keyboard when I play games like audio surf.  (I don't like the idea of spamming the S and D key exclusively 1,000s of times with a mechanical keyboard) same with strafing in fps games, I guess I'm OCD with the mechanical keys wearing out. Funny because they're so easy to replace too.

A few of you on here have talked about playing the game Mirror's Edge...

Personally, I've never played it though I dug reading about it via your posts and checking out some of the super high res screen shots you all posted.

Anyway, wanted to share this.

It's a completely INSANE POV Parkour video from a group called Ampisound and it's an official dedication in honor of this groups love of the game, Mirror's Edge.

Again, it's absolutely INSANE what this dude is doing ... and ... where he's doing it. I've seen lots of Parkour videos but nothing so freakishly ballsy as this.

Do yourself a favor and watch it in 1080p, full screen.

I didn't know it was legal to do this. (Run across peoples' rooftops)

I'll just chime in and say that having tactile feedback is part of the reason I prefer mechanical keyboards...except linear-keyswitched ones, obviously. I hate linear switches.

That also includes Cherry MX Brown switches, whose bump is so insignificant it might as well be linear. Cherry MX Clear, on the other hand, is a tactile, non-clicky switch done right, but good luck getting your hands on a board with those...

The thing is, I like knowing EXACTLY when a key actuated and released precisely by feel. It gives me a certain sort of confidence that the keyswitch is doing exactly what I want it to do without having to observe in-game behavior to be sure.

Hey, I don't mean to start up a new topic, but I just now finished Tomb Raider this morning after not playing it for about 2 weeks.
The story is quite engaging and really pays homage to the Lara Croft at the end, in which Lara uses her trademark double pistols that have been in basically every Tomb Raider game ever made. Sometimes, her vulnerability makes me feel kinda weird as Lara is usually pretty badass in the other games (my mom also took notice of this this morning), but I already know that it's a sort of prequel to all of the otehr games.
Sadly, I wasn't really thrilled with the gameplay. I don't know if I set the difficulty to Easy (I swear I set it to Normal) but the battle against the Stormguard General (or whatever you call that massive hulk of a man you fight before facing Matthias) was a little too easy. I honestly think the Stormguard soldiers were harder than him. The final battle with Matthias was just a QTE before Lara finally gets to use two tactical pistols (they looked like Roth's) which I got to go trigger happy and use both mouse buttons to finally finish the guy off. I plan to finish it again and hopefully sadistically shower Matthias with bullets while not allowing him to fall off the mountain.
Graphics-wise, it was stunning, but the cutscenes lags sometimes on the Ultimate setting. I didn't get to check the actual  FPS, but the lag was considerable enough for me to discern slight frame skips. Other than that, everything was as smooth as butter. I wonder why cutscenes lag and the actual gameplay doesn't, however...

For my second playthrough, I plan to play around with Fraps a bit and maybe record a video series documenting a playthrough of the story. I'm not sure when I'll be able to do that, but I'll give it a try.

I liked the Tomb Raider reboot too. Didn't notice any lags though, even at ultra and 1600p unless I used the TressFX hair(which is optimised for AMD cards, so was understandable give I use Nvidia). I thought the game was a little too easy as well, even on the hardest difficulty.

So the arctic silver 5 came today and after 4 minutes of FurMark my temps only got up to 71c (with the old schiity generic paste they got up to 86-84c) Very happy with it so far! Can't believe that the crappy stock compound that came on my 7970 was better then the crap compound that I got at the local shop for like $7... Just insane.

...Replace thermal paste?  And I thought I was thorough by doing a yearly/bi-yearly reformat.  What difference does reapplying it make?

The paste dries up after a while

I have taken apart my heatsinks many times already and so a lot of the paste is dried up or gone.
