Panasonic CT470 versus newer & cheaper Panasonics?

Most cheap potentionmeters output an imbalanced left and right. Even some nice pre-amps such as those from Rotel suffer from the same imbalanced problem.

However, my lousy D-EJ915 sony pcdp has digital volume controls and its still slightly favors the left over the right. Its also super annoying how sensitive headphones such as the EX70LP sound too loud at the lowest audible volume settings.

What, the D-EJ915 is so powerful that the EX70 sounds too loud no matter what??

Try a search in here or headwize for NY. Some people have mentioned a number of places. The only ones I know are Lyric on lex and 84/85th that carry a few grados and some senns, J & R down by the brooklyn bridge which have a bunch of sonys and senns on display, and springer (which is in the village I think).
