  Hi Everyone,

I have a few (hopefully last!) questions for you relating to my DP-X1 purchase which I'm hoping you can help me with.

1. What are the voltage and amperage requirements for the DP-X1 when using a portable external battery charger? I'm looking at an Anker PowerCore 20100 and want to confirm that it has the proper output for the player before purchasing.

2. I would like to get a pair of relatively inexpensive balanced earphone to use while on the go to see what I think of a balanced setup. In particular I'm thinking of when I'm traveling so perhaps the smaller and lighter size of an IEM or earbud would be the better choice for using on a plane, as would be something wired. I'd like to keep it to less than $100 US and I wear glasses so they would need to work with them. Any suggestions? What adapter cable(s) will I need for a balanced setup?

3. How are you guys connecting your DP-X1s while in your cars? Wired aux in, or Bluetooth? Is wi-fi even an in-car option yet?

Thank you very much for all your help! My DP-X11 is currently in transit and I can't wait to receive it!

1.  Charge is suggested at 1.5A , the factory HTC mobile phone charger is 1.5A.  I occasionally use 2.4A charger, it works.

2.  For <100usd, I don't suggest any BA driver IEM.  Try the Audio Technica E40 (99usd) with the 3.5 first. Then you can convert it to 2.5 balanced I believe.

3. I think using Line Out to connect to AUX of your car is better than wireless.  I use Line Out to connect to a mini tube amp, it sounds excellent.

If there is anyone in UK hoping to buy a DP-X1 then send me a message.

I have one I imported from Japan in March.  I prefer my ZX2 and therefore hope to sell the Onkyo.

It is fitted with the Onkyo glass screen protector and there is an Onkyo case.

I also look to sell a Linum 2.5mm balanced cable with MMXC plugs.

After only one week my DP-1X and Dignis case arrived at the same time. I´m super excited about this new device! Right now I´m listening to A Moon Shaped Pool everyone is raving about via UAPP/Tidal. And yes, I can hear some distortion on the start and end of each track. The EQ of UAPP is nice. That´s why I use it. I´v tried to find a good app with crossfeed function. I have CanOpener on my iPhone, and that awsome app is not on Andoid. I took a chance and bought Neutron, which has crossfeed. But that app was crap de la craptastic! So much distortion and noise. Something must be wrong? Maybe the app doesnt support DP-X1. Wasted money.

I´v also ordered a balanced cable for my ACS Encore. Hope to get them tomorrow. Until then, I´m discovering new stuff. Never had an android device before. So much new to learn. If anyone has any killer apps on their list, do share! :)

I have used AC adapter of the Samsung S4 (2amp) to recharge my DP-X1 all the time and just bought the Anker E7 26000 mAh power IQ for camping and traveling.

Something is wrong dude, Neutron is a very well respected player and I used it on my DP-X1 with no issues at all. I've also used it on 3 different phones with no trouble. That said, who knows right, but it does seem odd that you find it craptastic. I have never heard it described so negatively before. I have heard people not prefer it over another player, or feel the UI is to complicated, but that seems to be the extent of the complaints in general.

Hi. Just received a DP-X1. Trying out Tidal and Apple Music apps. Is there a way to apply EQ to those services on the unit? Can't seem to figure out if that's possible.

You could root and install Viper4Android: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2191223

Try this setting on Neutron:

Turn on 64bit processing
Turn off other features
D.filter Slow

Neutron has such a terrible interface and has trouble with tags and album art. It isn't worth the slightly better audio quality than stock players. Just install Poweramp Alpha v3. It's UI is actually operable, has excellent tag and album art support, and has a hi res mode and a new audio engine. It basically stumps Neutron in every way imo.

Headphone out to AUX in on my center console, sound signature is sublime! (Dont forget to turn the volume on the DP-X1 up to ful

Thanks, MadDane, I thought that was the best option, when available.

1. That should be fine with the charger then. I'm a bit concerned about battery life as the XP-D1's capacity is considerably less than that of my cellphone and I sometimes go for long stretches without being able to plug into a wall or computer.

2. In an addendum, I increased my price range to $200 as that seemed more reasonable. If that opens up the field any, please let me know what might be available in balanced offerings.

3. That is what I thought as well, although some rental cars only have the wireless option.

Thanks, singleended58. It does seem as though the Anker models will reliably set the output to match whatever device you are charging. I'm opting for the Anker PowerCore 20100 mAh as it seems to be the closest match for me between capacity requirements and being not too heavy. The extra 150 g between the 20100 and 26800 is significant on international flights.

I use a 5000mah battery pack to recharge dpx1 occasionally. No noise and can play normally while charging. FYI the brand is XiaoMi.
