I'm considering to get that cable for my DP X1 and TG334. How does it work with yours?

I'm not a cable believer so to me it works just fine.  But like all Fitear cables it's really stiff and unwieldy.

I also bought a SAEC cable in Japan - they are much softer and nicer to use.

Is it like the stock 006 (SE)?

I'm not a cable guy either; just wanted to get a balanced cable that works with the DP-X1

It's stiff like the 001 cable which came with my 335s, but obviously with a different plug.

Since they designated it as a 006 series cable I'm assuming they are exactly the same except for the termination.  Come to think of it the higher end Fitear cables are all two cables twisted and held together by heat shrink wraps, one could probably re-terminate the SE cable to balanced themselves quite easily.

From earbud to splitter, all cables have two twisted wires, you are right.

But from splitter to plug, it usually differs. On SE cables, you have three wires while on balanced you have four. This is what make impossible to reterminate SE to balanced (unless your SE cable has four wires but I doubt).

I know all of that, I have a BE in electrical engineering. :)
The Fitear cables don't have Y splitters - it's literally two wires twisted together and held together with heat tube up to a certain point then with another piece of heat tube for extra strength forming the "Y" split, unscrewing the plug shows there are two earth wires soldered to the ground of the plug, turning the SE Fitear cable to balance should be as easy as a 5 minute job for someone handy with a soldering iron.

EDIT: it makes plenty of sense for Fitear to make their cables like that since they are a small company with many things still done by hand, you save cost and standardize by buying big wheels of two core cables and cut them to length, twist them together and only terminate differently instead of how big OEMs actually spending the money to make and mold Y splitters using machine cutting/forming.

Long time lurker, first time poster. I've decided to upgrade from my X5 to the dp-x1. I was wondering if anyone bought a case for theirs and maybe where to get one. I saw one i'm interested in on amazon, but they don't ship to the US.

Cases for the DP-X1 are also something that I am curious about.

  Search for     ONKYO DPA-PUX1

It definitely does exist, as you can see at THIS link. Unfortunately it looks like it is only being sold in Japan at this time though, and none of the Japanese online retailers offer shipping to the United States. I wonder if someone got into contact with PriceJapan via. Email if they would start stocking it for us? It only costs about $35.

You can buy anything on the Amazon Japan site, just have to use a forwarding agent.
I use Tenso
I ordered a Onyko DP-X1 through Amazon Japan, a bit cheaper than Price Japan, although the wait will probably be the same.
Tenso's shipping charges and fees are very reasonable, and they ship quickly. Have used them, and Amazon Japan, a number of times.

$630? That's Hong Kong dollar right?

By the way, can the DP X1 feed a balanced signal to a balanced amp like Liquid Carbon? What cable/adapter should I use?
