Is there anyone tried MQA tracks from Tidal on Onyo DP-X1 or Pioneer XDP-100R? Do both have MQA decoding on board right?

Edit: I have noticed question was meaningless :) MQA tracks are available to find by try via mobile application but, it's not playable by Tidal mobile app right now. I was thinking that DP-X1 would take care of Tidal MQA files but since it will be played through Tidal mobile app, this is impossible.

Forget about it :)

Please correct me if I am wrong. I understand that MQA is lossy and not lossless.

Sure it's a lossy encoding technology. But sound quality is amazing for a lossy encoded file. People are comparing MQA vs DSD vs FLAC generally. Most will not see any noticable difference between those. The main point is that MQA encoded file is so much smaller than DSD and FLAC of same track and it's usable in streaming speeds.

Opus is another lossy format but SQ is amazing ..youtube "HD" songs are encoded in Opus 128Kbps only !!! 7Mb Opus converted to FLAC in same bit depth and sampling frequency becomes about 40-50MB FLAC

Opus is actually 2 codecs in one, and most importantly for google/youtube, free. (Silk codec and celt codec)

Opus should be more mainstream
One question..
Suppose I convert my WAV directCDRips into Opus ..will I lose quality while converting ?

I have seen WAV rips produces Euphonic Wet sounds where as FLAC rips produce Dry sounds ..

Hi guys, I'm thinking to buy the DP-X1A from eBay seller dwi-international-8. Does anyone know if his is good quality, and not with the loose headphone jack?

Also, how does its' line-out work? It seems to be a single 2.5mm balanced plug that can do both balanced and line-out; but would there be a setting I need to change to switch between the two output modes?

Hi,

Can this do USB OTG and is it reliable or hit-and-miss?

Thanks.
