I even found an early post from ClieOS who is an expert about anything sound related, saying in the Fiio thread balanced is not always an improvement!!

i dont detect any hiss from my high sensitive andromeda in balanced or ACG mode.

Not for me X1 with RE 600 balanced AGC mode...
The RE 600 purchased at 159 euro are very small IEM but sounds spectacular for me...
I use Silver Dragon from Moon Audio adaptor from 3.5mm (Hifiman balanced standard) to 2.5mm (Onkyo)

Recived today my Onkyo dp-x1a. And i am worried that stock player can't scrobble music on lats.fm Downloaded last.fm app, and it is not working with stock onkyo player That is very sad...

This is the main drawback of this player no streaming with the OEM player and no no gapless play either with the Onkyio player of course you use third party player but if I understood correctly the balanced mode may not work for with the them

This why I think I made the good choice despite the problem with the OEM player(see my previous post) I was hesitating between the two but I did not want to wait, also did not want to be a kind ofGuinea pig with their problematic firmware and also I think the boot loader is locked although they installed viper4android at the firmware level but they charge some $ if you want to to use it.

Gapless works flawless with Onkyo Music app.

There's no toggle to get it on/off. It's just implemented and working.

You can install a balanced cable on any IEM that has a removable cable.
 
Check AliExpress, Amazon, or eBay for replacement cables with the correct connector for your IEM - or order a custom balanced cable from one of the vendors which have been mentioned here on the Head-Fi Forums.  I purchased a custom 2.5mm TRRS to MMCX cable from Impact Audio Cables - https://www.etsy.com/shop/ImpactAudioCables - for ~$90, which I really like.

In my opinion Hifiman RE 600 V2 Balanced IEM (Now Flagship IEM for Hifiman before these become discontinued) + Moon Audio connector to fit 2.5 mm
Someone compare them to SE846 and other say there are even best I can compare these with my old shure SCL5 and if you, as me, want a neutral sound are almost unbeatble.
In Balanced + AGC are stellar for the price, but small and delicate as the most precious items... (modded with Sony tips)

You are right my apologies I just rechecked with a Willie Nelson album and it is working I need to investigate maybe some of my classical album put some silence at the end of a track
