After I updated to the latest firmware, I still prefer to the stock or previous firmware especially in terms of technical performance, specifically on the resolution and black background performance on previous firmware which is in my opinion the technical performance is the biggest advantage for this dac in it's price compared to other dac dongle in similar price range. May I get an access to downgrade to the previous firmware or can u fix it the technical performance in future firmware update? 🙏

I hope others can confirm this so we don't have to go through the trouble of updating the firmware and not liking the resulting "down grade" in audio quality. However, according to @Shanling , they claim that the firmware updates do not change the sound. Although I have seen this happen in the other chat group for Hiby FC6 where each firmware update produced slight changes in perceived sound quality.
go figure :p

Indeed the technical performances is a bit decreased
However the synergy and tonality are better now. Hopefully they will find the new formula to keep both exist in the next update.

Agree with this.
It's less spacious, less wide, not as ethereal. Imaging not as focused, separation less obvious between instruments. Things are happening more in front only, and not as much to the side of ears or inside head simultaneously as outside of head, because of worse separation.
It's less 3D in other words.

However, I find what I identify as improvements or increase in coherency, bass control, bass heft, bass depth, treble control (less splashy and sharp) and tangibility. As a consequence , I think tone and timbre is a little more full, pleasant and agreeable. I also believe I noticed a little more depth to the stage too, but again, less wide and more mono in presentation. The notes themselves are flatter and more static in movement (bad). Maybe the worst change is that the edge of the notes have been dulled. It's like a low-res veil covering the note so it never gets too close it intimate. It hurts the sense of micro detail and rawness of notes (obviously bad)

It's it an upgrade? Wouldn't say so. Bright tilted IEMs can benefit from these changes, but overall it's a downgrade.

Edit: Technicalities are decreased more than previously thought. We need firmware 1.14 asap.

Hi everyone. I have updated to 1.1.3 and played dsd64 via footbar2000 but the sound is very choppy and jerky. Is there anything to note when installing on Windows 10? Has anyone encountered the same problem as me?

Thank you for feedback on the New firmware compatibility.

So the firmware update is only Windows.
How do you update for Mac and/or Linux?

It's only for Windows.

We do not make any changes to sound with firmware.

But we will request the older firmware file. (Please be aware that downgrading firmware is done at your own risk and will not be covered by warranty)

If you using our Asio Foobar package, please make sure you change the Asio for ONIX XI1 to DSD512. It should then work fine.
Will adjust the instructions on our Google Drive.

So if the sound is not changed. Then people are probably imagining things.
