Visiting the parents and found this in a local shop.
Troegs - Nugget Nectar

Alcohol by Volume: 7.5%
Hop Bitterness (IBU's) : 93ish
Color (SRM) : Straw-Orange
Availability: 1/2, 1/6 and Cask Conditioned kegs, 12 oz. bottles
Malts: Pilsner, Vienna, Munich
Hops: Nugget, Warrior, Tomahawk, Simcoe, Palisade
Yeast: Ale

Oh man, stick you face in the glass and it's like putting it in a big bag of Hop flowers, then you take a long pull on it, soo smooth yet bitter. Oh yummy, I brought a whole bunch on the way back home.

Two of the best beers that I've ever had come from a local micro-brewery that's about a 3 minute drive from my house

Same with me I live just down the road to the micro brewery that brews some of my favourite Beer.

Count me in Team Beer-Fi =)

Never tried exotic and expensive beers but among easily available "styles" my favourite is by far german weissbier, especially Franziskaner hefe

Hi!
smily_headphones1.gif

I'm sorry to post a dumb question like this to your thread, but I'm thirsty -

The corner of the States that I live in just doesn't have any particularly good microbreweries.

I've had some great beers around the country as I've traveled - but I don't have any luck finding them online to purchase.

I'm REALLY craving some of "Ska Breweries" stuff. Ever had them? They're based out of Durango, Co. "Modus Hoperandi" is the best IPA I've ever had. If I could live on nothing else, I'd do it.

Does anybody know where/how I can order some? Any ideas?

One more question, sorry to be a bother -

I LOVE dark beers. The darker the better. Guinness Stout is not dark enough for me. I would love to find a beer as black and thick as tar - something that positively overloads your face with a complexity of rich flavors. Suggestions?

Thanks so much!

Bye!

Sierra Nevada Pale Ale is one of my favorite beers... Along with anything from Harpoon (Harpoon Ale being my favorite). These are great 'everyday' not-so-fancy beers that are really easy to find.

I've recently tried Captain Lawrence Liquid Gold. It's from a microbrewery here in NY. Liquid Gold | Drupal
Easily the best beer I tried this year. Absolutely love it.

Wow, was totally blown away by a beer I had last week: Dogfish Head 90 minute IPA, had a bottle of it at a local bar. What a great DIPA! (no pun intended)

redhooktriple01.jpg

Limited Edition Red Hook Triple Belgian Style Ale (10.2% ABV)
- Different kind of triple that's for sure...
- Not sweet light malty like others I've had
- Abit spicey grain kinda of flavor, not citrusy/lemony like others

MEH!! this tripel is very odd tasting....dont like it much at all. Thank goodness i have some Ruffles chips to mask the taste.

PLEH!!! I really dont like this at all!
