Rogue - Dad's Little Helper Malt Liquor (17* Plato, 10* L, 77 AA, 25 IBU)
- Not much aromatics at all
- Whoa! not what I was expecting for a Malt Liquor
- Taste is almost sweet, kind of apple-ish, no hoppyness, not much grain or malty
- Light bodied, clean after taste
- This is really good! 9/10!

I had Dogfish Head 120 minute IPA over the weekend - it was truly excellent, one of the best (if not the best) beers I've had. It was very smooth, incredibly aromatic, not very carbonated at all, and very sweet - it almost tasted closer to a tawny port than a beer. Despite being 20% abv, it went down very smooth and wasn't blatant about being so alcoholic. Fantastic stuff.

I saw that on the shelf and couldn't believe anyone could charge $10.00 for a 12-ounce bottle. How could any beer possibly be worth that much??

I think the best value DIPA is probably the Lagunitas Hop Stoopid. $5 for a bomber, and this is a serious DIPA. Really hard to beat at that price point.

Lambic Peche
- 1st of all its corked! Had to open it like wine.
- Initial smell is a bit like cheep malt liquor beer...that was odd
- Taste is nothing like malt liquor
- Semi-sweet peach flavors, bubbly CO-2, finish is also peachy sweet
- This one is different: corked, 1st smell is malty (like Old English 800), but is peachy sweet & bubbly
- Not bad, different 7/10

- Odd smell, I don't think I've had Black Currants before..so the smell is odd
- Taste is like...weird...almost like a cheep wine cooler, but more of a wine taste
- I don't like it much, the taste is very odd to me
- 4/10, but I can drink it, just very odd tasting.

- Malty alcohol & hoppy aromatics
- Medium-heavy malty & hoppy flavors
- Unique malty & strong alcohol flavor...not too overpowering, but malty & hoppy & alcohol
- Medium body, same but lighter malty & hoppy after taste
- If you like medium-heavy malty, hoppy & strong beers, you'll like this.
- If I wanted to get CRUNK and wanted a microbrew instead of rot gut beer, I would get this
- Not quite sure if would buy again, 6.5/10

speaking of stone...

I had my second ruination ipa ever last weekend. Not that it's news, but man what an amazing and hoppy beer. Right down my alley.

Anyone able to offer any suggestions on other beers in the same genre (pale ale, ipa, etc...) that might be worth trying?

To name a few that I've tried and enjoyed:
Great Lakes Pale Ale (prob my fav pale ale)
Sierra Nevada Pale Ale, Celebration Ale and Bigfoot
Stone Arrogant person Ale and Ruination IPA (prob the best IPA I've tasted so far)
Various others
