Wait....did I say gas? Dangit. I meant hay. Horses don't eat gas. 🤣
… I can see it now… two white stallions … a cardboard chariot … deftly handled by Julius Cowen …

I joined the Vahalla 2 club this morning. I have a silver one on the way. I'll stick with the stock tubes for a while. The Genalex Gold Lion gold pin 12ax7 tubes are my favorite new production tube so I'll probably have to try a pair of 6922s eventually. I'm looking forward to trying my HD600's and 600 ohm DT880's out with this thing. I do have a Vali 2++ that I really like with a GE 5 Star 5670 in it so I'm looking forward to hearing the differences between the two amps.

… the good news is that by your profile you should have perfect hearing … 😃
Sadly, I do not think I have perfect anything anymore, least of all hearing. The irony of course is that once I finally knew what to listen for I couldn't hear it.

Hello everyone. where would you find one of those 6SN7 socket risers mentioned previously in the thread? last week I bought a 6SN7 adapter for my Vali and didn't even consider that it might be too big and now that its here and a few tubes are on the way in the mail I've been sort of stumped on what to do with it.

See the esteemed (steamed? bbq'd?) @bcowen's previous suggestion here: https://www.head-fi.org/threads/official-schiit-vali-2-thread.790828/post-17423184

But since you already have a 6SN7 adapter, @bcowen's unhelpful advise is redundant. 🤣

Instead you could use a noval (9pin) socket saver then insert the noval-to-6SN7 into the socket saver.

There's plenty of socket saver options. Like this one: https://www.ebay.com/itm/275360679957

Yes, you would be double 'dapting, but it's still legal in many states.

Yes, it would. But soooo cheap. Check the fine print, might be a monthly subscription socket saver.
… from a socket saver to a pocket razer … 😜

@LobalWarming does offer some good advice, but you could also just save yourself some money and run the Vali2 topless
