That's the one thing I can say about the GE 5670. They make a spectacular night light
… aren’t you looking at aurora borealis🔭?

Tube testers, pfft! What about using S&H green stamps to discount bulk tube buys?
I had forgotten about those. Simpler times indeed!

LOL! I remember those too, but even as old as I am it was strictly a "Mom" thing. Took forever to fill up a book with stamps, but once done it meant a trip to the local S&H Green Stamp store to exchange for some really cheap and cheesy version of whatever you selected, like a toaster oven, ugly dishware, even some horrendously nasty all-in-one audio "systems" that would make even GE sound good. But I guess it was "free," right?

Oddly, what I remember the most is the taste of the adhesive. Gross.

Wednesday, double stamp day at Piggly Wiggly! I know because I worked as a sacker there most days after school and on weekends. No plastic bags in those days. I think I was making $1.60 an hour but I could fill up my bug for under $3.00.
And cigarettes were 4 packs for a dollar at the Trust gas station. Pot was really expensive though (from what I’ve read, of course).

Given your age, how do you ‘remember’ S&H green stamps?… 🤔
I'm 62 yrs old. I remember licking the stamps and putting them in the little booklets with my mother in like 1964 or 5.

Edit: Until I saw your comment, I had no idea my profile understated my age by 40 years. Oh no! :scream:
