LOL! I remember those too, but even as old as I am it was strictly a "Mom" thing. Took forever to fill up a book with stamps, but once done it meant a trip to the local S&H Green Stamp store to exchange for some really cheap and cheesy version of whatever you selected, like a toaster oven, ugly dishware, even some horrendously nasty all-in-one audio "systems" that would make even GE sound good. But I guess it was "free," right?

Wednesday, double stamp day at Piggly Wiggly! I know because I worked as a sacker there most days after school and on weekends. No plastic bags in those days. I think I was making $1.60 an hour but I could fill up my bug for under $3.00.
