Fyi, the title of the group Strawberry Girls is a reference to the Siouxsie & the Banshees song "Christine", which is about multiple personality disorder (now known as DID). Specifically, the multiple personalities of Christine Sizemore, who was the subject of a 1957 book and film (with Joanne Woodward) entitled The Three Faces of Eve. The Strawberry Girl was one of Sizemore's other personalities. Here's how she described them in her own words...

"Despite authorities' claims to the contrary, my former alters were not fragments of my birth personality. They were entities, whole in their own rights, who coexisted with my birth personality before I was born. They were not me, but they remain intrinsically related to what it means to be me."

Wikipedia describes the group's style as "progressive", "experimental", "post-hardcore", and "math-rock".

Artist: Wilderun
Album: Veil of Imagination
Song: O Resolution!

Got a bit of opeth in them - quite a bit actually - (Mikael Åkerfeldt sounding baritone with similar phrasing and vibrato)... Excellent sounding album mastered by THE one and only Jens Bogren!

Been a very long time since I've been in this thread. This band is so polarizing. You're either going to love them or hate them. There just isn't any in between. They are without a doubt world class musicians. This is very hard, almost death metal without the vocals but light years ahead of anything else I've ever heard musicianship wise. They are impossibly tight as It almost seems impossible ANY band can be this tight and precise. It's up to you if you can get into this as it's as complex and "NON" head bobbing as it gets. Feedback??

This stuff is my jam! I love music that is relentlessly technical, even to the point of lessening its listenability. Math rock, twitch-prog, free improvisation, I'll enjoy just about anything that features virtuosic musicians doing whatever the **** they want, record sales be damned. Blotted Science fits fairly nicely into that sort of genre, except that it's really very listenable. My head does indeed bob to it. Octavision is another great one, but I prefer Blotted Science's more disjointed, jarringly abrupt sound. Great stuff.

Agree on all points. If you or anyone else haven’t listened to them before, the 2 tracks posted has the most head bobablity. They are so tricked out in their time signatures. I watched a YouTube video by Ron Jarzombek, the guitarist, on how he composes his music. Absolutely wild and fascinating. He even shows the time signature with dots so you can follow along. In some of their compositions, there’s 2 different time signatures happening at the same time. What? Lol
Personally I think they’re incredible. I also listen to octavision too. You have great taste in music. I know that from earlier in this thread through back and forths or stuff that’s posted. Not a whole hellava lot coming out these days that is blow your mind noteworthy but hopefully that’ll change soon with something fresh .
