I'm planning to go Hong Kong next year again but I'm not able to find shops or store for cables or DIY connector. Appreciate if you have some information for them.

Brands I'm currently looking at are
Ortofon / Acrolink / Oyaide / Furutech / Neutrik

Was wondering if antone could help me. I'm vising hong kong somewhere in DEC. Wondering if there's any reliable places where I can find used good portable amps? Say within the RSA range of amps or similar? I'm staying around TST area if that helps.

Cheers

Well there's one place that sells used portable amps, located in Mongkok, one station from TST, check ''好景商場'' on google map!
go to the first floor then go around and you will see some few stores selling second-hand goodies.

As for diy parts you could look for ''旺角德發商場'' on google map, a underground area where quite a few audio stores are located. There's also a shop near Jaben HK (upstairs). Another good store is ‘’AKIHABARA Electronic Centre‘’ at 20/f, ''中僑商業大廈''

you could also go to  ''旺角添置商業中心'' which is right facing PakPoLee bldg., all floors on the building are selling audio gears, but not much are selling diy parts

disclaimer i am not affliated with any of these stores and there are much more good spots that I can't include here

and imo, go to the Akihabara store first!

I guess I'll have to have a look there for a budget-amp :3 How much cheaper do they normally sell it for compared to their MSRP?

Usually I will just search on fujiya 2nd hand site and have amps shipped from Japan...that should be a bit cheaper..... as for the difference between msrp and the 2nd hand price (in HK) it really depends, try your luck

Thanks NLNH! Thank would save me tons of effort looking around. As I can only spend time for a day in audio items, I will follow your recommendation.

Just found out that I can find acrolink and some fututech items in the following website. I will probably pay a visit during my trip.

  Hi all!

I am new to the forum, dunno if I managed to navigate to the right thread. Hope you will forgive me if not.

Anyways, I am passing by HK in a couple of weeks and I am looking into getting myself a Fiio e18. A couple of years back I visited the electronics fair I stumbled upon the Fiio booth there and bought an e11 for no money at all and -oh boy!- that sounded well with my HD25s. I went to see a couple of Head-fi stores as well but I noticed a certain scepticism as soon as I mentioned 'Fiio', proud as I was for my new found love =) Oh, well, you never become a prophet in your own home town, and all of that =)

So, I hope you can help me with the local knowhow you all have here in the thread to find the stores with decent prices for the Fiio e18. I have only a couple of hours at my disposal this time (unfortunately!) on site so I really would appreciate if anyone could tip me off on the ~3 best opportunities there are. I will try to call them first (just find someone with the proper language skills, though) to check the status on e18 before I go there, in order to optimize things as I have understood that phone is king in HK compared to homepages/email =)

Cheers!  //  P

You may find this site helpful for the Fiio E18:

There aren't any specific shop (actually merely 2 shops there sell related products)

Today when I google Hong Kong audio DIY supplier this came up:

http://www.ear phone hk.com

I wonder if you are aware or familiar with this site. Its really new setup in 2013, where I'm not sure if this store is legitimate.

Thanks.
