Apparantly the DR150's sounds like the Grado's with more soundstage and bass.

That's what I've read.. but I'm really trying to conjure this up. And if they are even close to the Grado's, and have more soundstage and bass, then I'm sold!

I wish I could try both...

Most are removing that scotch taped cloth behind the grill for more soundstage and bass.

They've got a good thread going, interesting

Just did the grille cloth mod and cleaned up some of the solder joints while I was at it, more open and airy now

I am seriously considering selling both my HD580s and MS1's and buying these.

They sound like the best of both worlds.

Oh BTW, what is the cheapest website atm that these can be bought from?

Paid $70 like new from a online store. Item was returned..

Not sure what the "going" rate is, but these are $150 new. A pair on Audiogon for $120 used.. sounds like I stole these for the price I paid...

Where can I get these here in the US at a decent price???

Hmm...I'm kinda curious on these.

Not sure what you mean by "decent" price. I've only seen them sold new, which is $150. A quick google search brought up quite a few places..

Heres two for a start..

Goldring DR-150 Headphones

Goldring - DR-150 - Dynamic Headphones-Audio Advisor

Since your in NZ, best place would be in the UK, they are going for about 62pounds plus shipping which is cheaper than here in North America.

Yeah... 62 pounds is $168NZD while $150USD is $192NZD. Shipping from UK though might be more, seeing as NZD is triple pounds.

So I think US might be better.

OK...I'm not sure if I quoted the correct price up above, Here is the total:
HP + SH To 68522 £63.00.
Please tell me what this amount is in US currency.

I don't need the long cable that comes with it...I'll be using it with a ZUNE so shorter is what I need.

I'm not afraid to yank out my old soldering iron, Will it hurt anything besides aesthetics's if I cut the cable to my desired length?
