Oh man... if it's an improvement on the current F-4 models... no words.

The Flat4-KURO uses aluminum for the center cabinet.

See the picture in the release note. アルミニウム is aluminum, not maple.

"Ocharaku's excellent Flat4 series is about to get another entrant. Kuro is the latest Twin Equalised Element. Like Kaede, it will also utilise maple in its central cabinet. The best news is that it comes at a much lower, audio folk-friendly price."

Do changes of the central cabinet change the sonal qualities of the Flat 4?

Therein lies the question. I get mixed impressions when speaking to others about the differences between the SUI and Kaede. If the Kuro offers better SQ than the Kaede at a reduced price, this could be one of the best phones to come along in some time

For some reason, I'm not expecting much. Because "generally" the Sui and Kaede sound more similar than not. Some can't even tell the difference between the two. I can't imagine that this Kuro would deviate/improve much over the other models. Of course I cannot conclude that statement until I (or another) has heard them, but I'm leaving my hopes on the skeptical side.

Yeah, that's really the rational course of action. Of course, it's fun to ponder over what could be :)
