I mean obscure but not wide-spread.
Less known than Death In June or Explosions In the Sky

I'd second I See A Darkness, and Johnny Cash's cover of the eponymous track isn't bad. It features Mr. Oldham singing backup vocals, too.

Set fire to flames - either album will do, both extremely dark with the odd hint of hope.

Funeral - earlier works, though "From these Wounds" is pretty depressive

Remembrance - Frail Visions

Also, try some stuff by Red Sparowes. Excellent mix of post rock like explosions in the sky and metal. good stuff.

Allan Pettersson - Symphony No. 6

By the way, I've been looking for "suicide" on ebay.
And almost died choking with laughter despite my utter depression:

1.
"Suicide: Prevention, Intervention, POSTvention by Earl A. Grollman"

2.
"KURT COBAIN SUICIDE NOTE AND TRANSRIPT COPY
WHAT WERE KURT'S FINAL WORDS ?? IT IS ALL IN HIS NOTE"

Anyway, thanks for the Allan Pettersson recommendation.
Finally a contemporary classical composer I haven't even heard of.
Anyway if I weren't boasting enough, I know most of what you've mentioned, I'm a music guru. Maybe I should work for NME
(Or shut up and act depressed as I'm supposed to and stop daydreaming).

I wonder about so many post-rock recommendation.
In slovakia, 99 out of 100 people don't even know what it is.

Go on posting please!
