Obscure Chinese DAPs

Jun 16, 2021 at 5:23 AM Post #7,471 of 8,292
The strange thing is that its released but no info and no nothing from what i can find. Maybe there are some site/forum from China with more info on the release?
Its also strange that it does not looks like the one on the Acmee site. Acmee mentions 2,5mm 3,5mm and 4,4mm but the one from Taobao/aliexpress is "only" 3,5 and 4,4.
Maybe they changed their build and spec but it seems odd no? And is there any pics/screenshots of the OS? Android?

I just read the info in the AliExpress link that vilders shared, that was all the information I could get from it, the info is in chinese of course. Like many of you, I'm waiting for more information or first mpressions.

I am interested to get one, but have no experience with the brand before. Just don't know how its SQ may like, I would probably wait for more impression to make the decision too. At the same time, I can share some user reviews from taobao. Most users claim the MF02s has dark background, sweet vocal, exceptional driving power, non-touch screen. Someone claims that its SQ can match M6pro, HiFiman901r. By the way, you can check out the video of MF02s taking by the users :

I've got a problem with file order of some files on my Acmee MF-01 (one of the most obscure DAPs).
In the folder overview it shows the files in a random order and plays them in this random order as well. I'm pretty sure the player normally just sorts by name, but here is something different.
It's with batch renamed files and from autogenerated filenames with linux.
I've updated and downgraded the Firmware to different versions, deleted the players file database several times, changed the SD card and all didn't help, switching random playback on and off didn't help too.
My theory is, that something must be different with those batch named files, because older albums from my collection didn't have a problem when I put them on the SD and scanned them.
If I only knew what is the difference between the files that get scanned correctly and the ones that don't, I could fix the files and they would be scanned normally.
If nothing helps my next player will be Fiio X5 2nd Gen (really need that scrolling wheel :3)

I wrote of course with linsoul, but you know how it is with the chinese customer support...

You can already buy it at AliExpress https://www.aliexpress.com/item/100...exp_id=845a3ff5-28f4-430f-ab1a-90efb05186e3-1 I wonder how they managed the folders on this one, on the MF01 it was a drag. First you only had one level of folders, now there are two, but it's all displayed in one giant list.

Thank you very much for the link.
6.5 hrs play time with screen off!
Really, it is a low battery life. It could be that it works in class A, where current is always flowing. But, as usual, the real life is always lower than promised....
We will see.

For me, one of the things that concerns me most is that it should have an output impedance of less than 1 Ohm, so that the frequency response of all connected headphones is respected, which is not the case with the MF-01.

Many of the obscure DAPs have problems with the sorting of files and folders. The order is not random, it is simply the order in which they were added to the card. It is a recursive query.
You have to sort the FAT table of the SD card.

Put the SD card in a USB adapter and use one of the following software to sort the FAT table, from your PC:

For SD formatted with FAT32, use this software:

http://www.anerty.net/software/file/DriveSort/

For SD formatted with ExFAT, use this software:

Thank you very much! It worked very well. (It was an ExFAT)

I already bought a second DAP from ebay, a Fiio X3 iii for 80 Euro :)
I really wonder how it sounds, especially compared to the Acmee MF01. I don't have to bother with scrolling through a giant folder list with that one, that's for sure.

I had a Fiio X1 and a Fiio X3 II and sold both, I couldn't stand such a dull, slightly dark, soulless sound without much separation, low precision and refinement. They were two disappointments. The Acmee MF-01, despite its higher output impedance and "influence" on IEMS with BA drivers, sounds better than those. But I can't say anything about the Fiio X3 III, because I didn't get to try it. Good luck with it, because it's not a bad price.

hello Forum, I have Zishan Z1, Z3 and DSDs with ES and CS DAC. I changed opamps a few times and because of that I have a left over original Muses 8920.

What would be an other nice DAP or portable headphone amp for the 8920 opamp? I am aware this is reversed thinking, normally the DAP itself is the starting point for improvement.

The Muses 8920 is not an expensive opamp (performance is close to Muses 01), I think a second Z3 is a good and cheap option, but maybe there is something else out there?

Maybe Zishan U1? It's on sale for about the same price as Z3 right now.

There is the little bear b4 if you fancy a portable tube (not the X version which requires 2 opamps)

Thanks, U1 could be a nice deal, but that Little Bear looks more interesting, and indeed the normal version with one opamp. I will think about it, price is a bit high (aprox 100 euro).

I do have two 8920 opamps, but one from Mouser is genuine and the other looks different, the E in Muses looks wrong. But it sounds good too. I guess using them both in a Little Bear X version could be problematic.
