Tempotec have confirmed that production of the V1 has ceased, but have an upgrade planned for the future.
Obscure Chinese DAPs

The ACMEE MF-02s has arrived. I have been waiting for it for a long time. Originally it was going to be with AKM DACs, but I guess after the factory fire, many projects were left half done and they had to redesign the product with a Sabre DAC.
As for sound, I've only tried a couple of songs and I think the sound is remarkable, close to excellent, more refined than the Zishan Z4. You can turn up the volume more without finding stridencies and preserving the musicality and smoothness.
Now, the firmware and handling is still far from the best. A large screen with good definition, which does not show the cover art, a limit to the number of songs (over 4500) and a slow card scanning and no notification when switching on for the first time. As with the MF-01, it is necessary to re-scan the card after adding new songs.
The screen gets a bit warm and the battery is not calibrated. It seems that the device waits until the battery runs out before calibrating it.
On the other hand, it reads two levels of folders well, the feel of the buttons and, above all, the potentiometer, is very good.
I will proceed to measure with the oscilloscope both outputs.

Sadly, I can't go for tests MF-2s because no one selling in my country.
Can you take photo of PCB?
I see better AMP section than Z4, but there is not fully balanced so still Z4 have better potential for modifications.

I really don't know how to open the back cover, there don't seem to be any cracks or screws to do so. So I won't take pictures of the PCB, at least for now.
You know I'm very critical about the output impedance and, in that sense, it's worse than the Z4. The MF-02s has a Zout SE=10 Ohms and a Zout BAL=22 Ohms.
As for power, for now and that is because I will do a full review here, I can say that for SE they are higher than specified but for balanced they are not. I have to do some more research in this regard.

I can't read accurate Chinese translation but it's seems to have exclusive version as well?
Is the standard version, the Pro version has a soft gold colour.

I have the pro version and find the sq excellent,Acmee have just released new firmware including a special edition golden ear fever for wav only,should be interesting,I also find the bluetooth is sounding better,would be good if they implemented cover art and upgraded the ui but they have been busy,suprised this dap has not taken off yet.

Hi! Could you please recommend a dap under 250$? Would be nice to have a 2.5mm out, but not mandatory. Pure sq is the most inportant, dont care if cant stream, or dosnt have BT, if the sq is high. Like neutral sound with little warmish attitude. Thx

Quite a few folks who have it says it can hit almost 70% sound quality of the higher end sony DAPs (after the mod is applied).
The A55 only has 3.5 mm output but the sound quality is really excellent. Warm and smooth without harshness, yet nice soundstage and details and layering.
It has BT and around 20+ hours battery life, though it cannot power too high demanding planar type cans. I bought mine first hand at $150 usd or so.

Update: I got the Acmee MF-01 a couple years ago, but it has sat in a drawer until recently, when I noticed that this year, a firmware was finally released that could read directories. No longer must one put all their songs into the root directory! There is still a fair amount of scrolling to do since it auto-expands all the subfolders, but thankfully the MF01 has a great scroll wheel (slash volume wheel) to compensate. Next, I ran into the sorting problem, but found a nice list of FAT-sorting utilities and went with FAT Reader, which was a success.
So now, the MF01 is reasonably convenient to use and I'm thrilled with it! It shall be my new daily driver.

I'm really interested to hear more about the FIWWAT. The XS2 I think is blacklisted due to the slow sd card read every time its ejected, updated and reinserted. I hear its painfully slow. I really love the rocker volume on the FIWWAT and is what attracts me to it the most. I'm keen to know more about this little DAP such as;battle of a bunch of chifi unknowns this morning
so far listening with the TC-200
the Nuansa, Xduoo, and Fiwwat have been sounded the best
the MF-01 has some depth/punch but feels boomy
the xDuoo has the best form factor (just received last night from china hence the comparison this morning)
The Nuansa P1 probably shouldn't be in the lineup being prived at $350 USD

I own a MF-01. The back cover is secured using double side scotch tape! So there is not any screws. I guess the MF-02 is the same.
