Obscure Chinese DAPs

You might not believe it, but a HiFiMAN Megamini is one awesome DAP that does an awesome job!

If you need an amp that is small, I would probably recommend FiiO A5

I second the A5. It's got loads of power, great build quality, excellent sound thanks to the superb MUSES02 opamp, and better specs than the E12 (which is also a great amp).

I went crazy and took the gamble.
I just ordered a Shanling M1 from JoyBuy.com (a.k.a. JD.com).
A black one for US$95 incl. shipping.
Now keep my fingers crossed.
The price is too good to be true but JB is AliExpress biggest competitor.

Gives me joy to know that!

You can compare it to the Ruizu A 50.

With the great new reviews today of the Ruizu A50, I think they will sell quickly.

Does anyone know where to check for the latest firmware? Mine is V1.101.10 June 28,2017. Is that the latest?
I believe that is the most current version. Hopefully there will be a new one soon to fix a couple of minor issues.

If I get it (I say if because at this price: if something looks to good to be true...) I will surely do that.
From what I have seen in several reviews the Shanling is better and looks even better but costs more too. We'll see.

My husband has the Shanling but I have not played with it. I do not enjoy trying to make critical comparisons .I will leave that to you guys. I am more than happy with my Ruizu A50...small player for in my pocket. That was all I wanted and it has exceeded my expectations. i do also have my Opus #1 that I use with my home listening area and I have a rockboxed xDuoo x3 which seems to now be my backup player. All set for a long long time. Now if I would stop reading about headphones...
