I am getting ready to send them back again, do you have any advice?

thanks

Yes, send them the absolute minimum of stuff that's needs the RMA and not the whole package.

Hmm I'm kinda hesitant to get one used from an unknown seller like that. Seems like a bad situation if something broke on them with no product support for them. Maybe I'll go for the W40 instead, seems like a safer route. Thanks!

Edit: I was looking into a safe/legit place to order them in China or another foreign place but not sure how safe that is, or if they ship to U.S.

I emailed Nuforce support asking if the Primo 8's are replaceable or will be available in the future. According to Optoma Nuforce Support, they will be available again in March. Here's the reply I got:
"Dear [name],

The individual parts that can be replaced are the cord, and the ear pieces. At this time, I can't tell you for certain whether
they have to be replaced in pairs, but at least you wouldn't have to replace the entire thing, as the cable sells for $100.

They will be available again in March.

Best Regards,
[name]
Optoma Nuforce Support"

After almost 15 days I have received a reply informing me that my issue will be forwarded to the support manager....

either the nuforce/optoma support is overwhelmed or they are just not very efficient but as a customer, my genuine issue with their product (flaking paint) is so far not taken care of satisfyingly....

i would not advice buying a pair of these high end iem from them but if you do so, it is "à tes risques et périls" as we say in french!

..you could buy the one from me... mine ist only 1 month old, not often used and has two cables: the original one with Microphone and one from FiiO:
http://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B00OYMSBDS?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_search_detailpage

The price not included the  transport is 379 Euros incl. nearly two years german "garantie"...

The reason fo the Sale ist, that the Primo 8 is a little bit "tricky" to put it inside my Ears...

The Primo 8 is "like new", all Tipps are unused...
he sounds wonderfulll

With kindly regards...

Bernd

Just heard from NuForce and my new replacements.

Apologies for the delay. As Optoma has recently acquired NuForce, we are currently in the process of transitioning and integrating our internal processes.  Your request has been processed and a replacement unit will be shipped out by end of week. Tracking information will be updated once the replacement is shipped.

Well it is March and there hasn't been any news yet on the availability of the Primo 8. Maybe in a few weeks, would be nice to see a price drop also.

Since Optoma took over NuForce, they've been updating a few designs it seems. No clue on what will happen with the Primo 8 :/

I just hope Optoma does NuForce right as I don't know much about Optoma, only that they produce Projectors and many other things.

I think I might have spoken too soon as now I see on the Nuforce Optoma website http://www.optomausa.com/soundproducts that Nuforce now has the NE750M iem and NE800M iem in there lineup. These must be new as I have not seen them yet and must mean they are readying a new lineup of audio gear. I'm now excited and curious as to how the NE750M and NE800M iem sound.

No news on pricing yet as I couldn't find any links that lead to the prices but there was an amazon link to the NE750 IEM listed under Optoma http://www.amazon.com/Optoma-NE750M-Earphone-Microphone-Black/dp/B00UOVP2MQ/ref=sr_1_4?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1426329968&sr=1-4

It shows $199.00 which is a drastic price difference from the usual IEM lineup from Nuforce (not including primo 8). It may just be an error as it shows it is out of stock and there are no pictures.

An ebay seller has these for only $299 - at that price, it might be worth a try....

Yeah I've noticed those and I'm thinking about picking them up because that is cheap considering its MSRP of $499.
