They are the Older versions of the headphones.

Did you know that going into the purchase? Are you OK with that, or can you return them?

Had both versions of the HD600 and liked the older version better. : )

Plus, I think the D2000 are much more pleasing to the eye, more solid-feeling in the hand and less plasticky to the touch than the HD650. : )

The first time I heard my 650s (with Zu cable and bought from another head-fi'er) I thought they sounded dull and flat. I've grown to appreciate them as they have a more forward midrange, despite their sound not having the body of the Denon's.

So I have been going back and forth between them for about an hour. I def. like the D2000's better ....seems like their bass has more of an impact and the D2000s seem to be ALOT brighter as well as more clear. Who Knows Maybe the 8610 Op Amps will brighten them up and i will like them more....?

They are superior in all the aspects (i refer to the DT770pro versions)....

Well i got the 8610 Op Amps today and have been listening for about an hour. I personally believe they made the HD 650s sound a little brighter but they still don't compare to the D2000's. Except they surpass the D2000's in soundstage. Also, I have to turn the treble and bass up in the Creative Panel to "attempt" to reach the D2000's sound.

The 650's overall jsut sound a little foggy...

I you don't need closed phones, there is no point of keeping both, the signature is pretty close but Senns do everything better with better details and better controlled bass.

I've owned the HD650 on a half-dozen occasions with the most suitable RAL recable, and with amps the likes of the Meier Prehead, Dynahi, Bada PH-12 and Darkvoice 337, etc., all of which capably drive the Sennheisers and admittedly sound "good" over the short haul. But I simply prefer a forward sonic character, which the HD650 do not have. And I'm with you, I'll take the D2000 to the HD650--with the possible exception being balanced--anyday; the K501 to the HD650 everyday! : )

Sell then the senheiser. What do you waiting for?. The Denons are semi closed and sound better than the Senh... that is completely open.
Don't you believe that is smarter to keep the Denons and say sayonara to the Senheisers?....
