It's official!

Date
Satuday, February 26

Time
1pm until ???

Location
RAYS Tea Time
138 E. Third Ave. (One block East of El Camino Real)
San Mateo
650-348-7233

Details
RAYS is a business, and we're essentially renting an upstairs meeting room (Thank you Gundam91 for finding the location!), so there will be $10 per person "cover charge" and you have to purchase a drink from downstairs (this is to pay for renting the space). There's no elevator, so you will have to carry your equipment up the stairs. Because there are liability issues if somebody injures themselves, everyone showing up also needs to sign a liability waiver.

Plenty of parking between 3rd and 4th Ave. We can open the back door so people can get their equipment in from the parking lot. Or you can try parking on the street in front.

BUMP!

Only 11 so far? I though we were talking something like 20-25? By the way, I found a really nice new Japanese restaurant on 3rd Street. Price is slightly higher than average, but the food is good. And you get a free fried banana desert! Why I say it's good? Because they actually put vinegar in their sushi rice like the real sushi in Japan! None of that slapping a piece of raw fish on top of some rice and calling it sushi. Right, Ayt999?

btw, I'm still looking for a ride to san mateo. I guess I'll have to start PMing people in the area to see if they are going and if I can get a ride. people want to hear my setup right? would be very hard to bring it there by BART.

Done. Thanks, I've always wanted to hear a DI/O!

Anybody have a NOS DAC they can bring?

Is that sushi place called Sushi Sam's? If so, I second that opinion... including the price, which is astronomical when you consider that "good sushi" means ordering even more "good sushi"!

Another of my favorites is Kaimuki Grill just off 3rd on El Camino.

Nope. I think it's called something like Japanese Bistro. The owners look like they are Nisei or Sansei (Second or Third generations) from Hawaii.

Just won an auction on a 1.0m Zu Pivot, hopefully I will be able to give it a good burn in before bringing it to the meet. This is the mini to RCA cable, so you guys with iPods can plug the iPods into some amps.

man hopefully i can make it to this.
if so i'd be able to bring some 240s, as well as a pimeta off of battery power w/ diamond buffers (glassman design) all pcb's custom ||mob||.

hopefully i dont have to work, that would suck HARD, esp since someone has 271 w/ zu cable, would like to check that cable out on 240s, since i heard that 240s cable really makes no diff.

not many grado fans up in norcal eh?

okay, I think I got a ride from raif. he said toor can ride too.

I'm still deciding on what to bring to the meet. a few things are supposed to arrive shortly, so I don't think posting a list right now would be too useful. either way, I'll be bringing some very high end gear.

Since I could only make it on the 19th, you'll want to remove my equipment from the list:

Gilmore Lite with dedicated power supply
60 GB iPod photo
U2 iPod
1GB iPod shuffle
Altec Lansing inMotions
Bose SoundDock
JBL OnStage
MacAlly Podwave
Titanium PowerBook

Maybe these (but I think others had these on their lists as well):
Senn HD650 w/Zu Mobius
Sony MDR-F1
Koss KSC-35
Audio Technica A900

Awesome news! I'm sure you'll blow us away with whatever you bring. I'll wait until raif chimes in himself before I add him to the list.

Bummer! I saw that on your post, but I think I was in denial because I so badly want to check out the dedicated ps on the Gilmore Lite. Another time, perhaps...

Yeah, Sam rocks. Lots of good sushi places downtown actually, if Gundam's place is a standout then I'm sure its da bomb!

Since I didn't read that anyone has done this, I went ahead and PMed everyone that expressed interest (and as far as I know can attend a Feb 26 meet) but not on the attendee list. the more people the better.

(well, until the room becomes overcrowded that is.

seems to be alright still from what gundam91 posted previously.)
