How do I know If I'm leaning toward the dark side of the fuzz? Is there a special fuzzy feeling i should be getting when listening to the sithy fuzzies? How do I find if some cans are true fuzzys?

Hi donunus,

What are the headphones you own and like?

i am currently breaking in 555s but enjoy 580s and sr60s too. my 580s died and the sr60 recently died too. need a grado again like an rs1 or the 225 maybe. The rs1 might be a can im willing to get without auditioning first.

but back to the topic.. fuzzzzzz. I am blind!..... what do i listen for when detecting if the can is a purely fuzzy or if its in the dark side of the fuzz?

Do you look for micro-details in your headphones? Cough of the musicians, dropping objects and flicking pages? If so, then you have been seduced by the Dark Side.

If not, the fuzz is strong with you.

Yep, like Nik was once seduced by the Dark Side by Emperor Qualiatine, but he was lured back to the Fuzz by the double agent R2-DT880-2.

I thought burn-in had left with me with the fuzziest of all headphones....

.... but I had not switched the CD player and head-amp on, doh!!!!

"Fuzzy-wuzzy" means a different thing over here, thanks to an old BBC comedy called 'Dad's Army'. Not very PC though.

I love the hyper details but it is not as important to me as Prat and the musicality of a can. I love a can that makes me just enjoy the music. It usually requires at least a good top to bottom balance without anything really bad jumping out too. But Fuuuuuzzzzzz I want it all if I can have it. Darth sa5k I need to meet

According to an earlier post, I have much to learn about the fuzz. Well I may not understand it, but here's my comeback!
I'm an apprentice of the fuzz no longer, and became strong once I could spot the fuzziness in recordings and equipment. It may take a few years to become a master of the fuzz, but it becomes easier to spot the dark side of the fuzz after listening to lots of fuzzy headphones and recordings. If you become a master of the light, right fuzz still beware! Do not become complacent with the genuine fuzz, for even the true path can lead to denial, complacency and then acceptance of the dark side of the fuzz.
Apprentices you need to accept the fuzz, and through training decide your alliance, you will know the path you need to follow soon enough. However if you are seduced by the dark side of the fuzz, it is a torturous path that may never end. Remember that all recordings have fuzz and do not appreciate it, but the music, else you will become weary searching, and never satisfied.
Please tell me I am at one with the fuzz!

I agree with grawk, it sounds like the Dark Side in disguise.

This is the first step to full understanding of the fuzz. You must first loose something if you ever wish to truely own it. I think that the fuzz is strong in this one, but we will see how he handles himself in adversity.
