Hi, everyone.

I study Music Tech and my lecturer has recommended we buy Beyer DT100 for studio work. I recently got mine and have just unboxed them. The connection cable doesn't want to find in the headphones though. The pins line up and stuff, but it's putting up a lot of resistance when I try to push them in.

I've never really owned headphones before, I've always just used the ones we had in the studio, so I have no idea if I have to set them up first or not. The manual isn't much help to me either.

Is there something you have to do to get the connection cable to sit nicely in the headphones.

Also, for when I'm not in the studio, can I use these headphones with, say, my home computer (just a standard computer - nothing special) to listen to tracks I've recorded? How about an iPod as well? I don't want to damage the headphones because there isn't enough power to support them or something :S

Thanks for any help!

I've owned several others in that range.  Don't be afraid to give it a good push--it should fit if you have it pointing the right direction.  Did you get a screw to go through the connector after it's in?

That model (depending on the impedance) shouldn't give you any problems plugged into any source.  If it's the 5ohm version, it might put an unusual load on the amp, but that would even be fairly unlikely.

The box says it's impedance is 16 or 400 ohms. Yes it came with a screw in a sealed package. I'll put that in after I've plugged it in.

I'll give it a good push now. Hopefully I don't break it

edit: It fit in. Required a bit of a hefty push, but it clicked right into place
