Non-audiophile reactions to high-end headphones

non-audiophiles will never understand completely.  Most people I talk to about my rigs just look at me like i'm a lunatic. Others only show mild interest.
I always hear, "that's cool but i wouldn't spend that kind of money on headphones"

Price is so subjective. $2700 bought me a CAR!, BUT I could have bought a low end stax set up for that, or Two too three custom bali-song's, or a single hand gun. I think it just depends on what  your preference for the item is.

At one point my car was worth less than half of my headphone/audio equipment.

Me too, at start $20 was much, but 2 years later $60 is nothing.
Everyone doesnt understand why i need 5 players and 10+ iems:)

I started with $20 iem's and thought that was like breaking the bank on buying headphones. Then I got the XB700 after a friend of mine got them and I fell in love with them. Then it was a slippery slope,"Okay, just $60 for the V6's" they were fakes so I got a refund and thought,"Man $100 for the senn HD448 is steep but they sound great","Oh man $150 for the sr80i? THESE THINGS ARE AWESOME!","200 for the HD25? HELL YEAH!", "150 for the hfi-580 BA BA BA BASS!!!"*still regret getting rid of them*, "500 for the RS-2? These things are gods voice trapped in a headphone","150 for the k500? a clasic and they sound good; sure", "300 for the DT1350? why not they look interesting","D2000 look like they have good mids, and for 210 who could pass that up?","HE-500? why the cluck not?  and a new amp/dac to boot its only $1500.

"Head-fi the slipperyist of slopes"
or I'm just stupid with money, though I do still have a large chunk of money in the account and have been saving since I was 14 and had a job at 15 so I feel I'm entitled to spend some of my income.

Guys I know that we are mostly adults and older teens here but have any of you ever named any of your headphones? Some friend of mine just bought some monster diamond headphones thingy and named it Elle. RIP Sound Quality.

I call my Beats collection my flock of sheep. I call my home stereo "The Neighbor Annilator"
