That makes a lot of sense seeing as they give off HUGE amounts of various frequencies.

They have the biggest tendency to sound too 'digital' for me. That's usually how I make the judgement, then again...I don't think I really have golden ears (sadly).

HAHAHAHA nice post!100 per cent of the people of what i use to talk about music and headphones use to have negative response about expend 200 $ for a pair of headphones,considering they like music!!!how can you really enjoy music if u have a poor gear?
ok ,i live in brazil where 200$ are not nuts, are not a great amount neither,but,atm i dont have any good pair of speakers(i`d need to spend more than 400-500$ for a medium quality speakers) so 200$ for a ath-m50 or a m-80 from amazon u.s. are really worth,considering you`re going to experience all music you listened in the past to a new dimension.or maybe im the only one could perceive the sound achievement.everybody amaze about the difference from a 480p to a 1080 tv,but this isn`t happening at the same sound reasoning.
i dont even need to smoke weed to feel in paradise.or maybe music,for the people around me,are not more than sound entertainment when they go socialize and drink beer with a backsound just to feel as "socialite" person doing the most exclusive event in their life.

Sometimes I envy you people who can't tell the difference between lossy and lossless a little because you aren't limited to only buying 1 of 3 hard drive DAP's in existence or carrying around only 10% of your library at a time. Then I go and listen to some 24/96 and all my troubles melt away.

Looks like no BS product, but a bit expensive?
I have never heard any, but specs look good.
