How good will these sound if used directly with a phone, Galaxy S5 to be specific? A lot of the reviews seems to have used DAPs.

I'm interested in a balanced, versatile iem mainly to be used with a phone and these look amazing.

Don't have any Galaxy phones but I've tried the Savant with the IPhone 5s, 6s, and Xperia z3 compact. Sounded great with the iphones, ok with the Xperia (warmer... Typical Sony house sound).

Considering the Galaxy phones are known to have decent sound, the Savant should sound good enough.

I would recommend a decent DAC tho for the optimum performance from the Savant.

Heard the savants on a LG G4 and I liked it

LG seems to be following the head-fi community. People are writing a lot of good things about the LG V10. So I could imagine the Savant sounding spectacular on that phone.

Sounds excellent from Galaxy Note 4, no complains here!!!  And keep in mind, since the cable is replaceable, you can probably find 2pin cable with in-line controls/mic to control playback remotely, adjust the volume (depending on your phone), and to pick up calls.  And don't forget BTS if you want to cut the wires completely and don't mind some reduction in sub-bass.  But for sure, it pairs up nicely with my Note 4.

I am actually glad I got a chance ot hear the Savant with the Mojo.

I was really starting to wonder what I heard in them at Addicted to Audio that day.

It was because my source components were all quite forward or bright.  Where as on that day I auditioned them with the AK Jr.

While I am not a fan of the AK Jr it made for a nice combo with the Savant.

Since then I could hear that the Savant was great, but it was lacking the magic I heard the first time.

The Magic is back :)

Nice!

Please tell us more about the Savant + Mojo synergy.
What's the notable difference?

@fnkcow  has posted his Noble Savant review: http://www.head-fi.org/products/noble-audio-savant/reviews/14419

There's no denying that the Savant is masterfully tuned with just dual BA drivers and it goes to show that the number of drivers in today's seemingly ever expanding drivers war is not the only factor in determining if the IEM in question will sound great or not. It's not technically brilliant like the TOTLs out there, nor will it please everyone such as bassheads, though it's a master of none, but the sum of all its parts make it a competent jack-of-all-trades.

Thanks for joining the tour mate!

So I've been listening to the Savant full time. Hopefully I'll have my review posted in a week or two.

My recent discovery is that the Savant handles vocals magnificently. Male and female voices have a nice contrasting presentation altogether. The texture and airiness of voices in a Capella captivates me into listening for more.

If you have the Savants or planning to audition them, make sure you include Pentatonix in your test tracks.

Here's a sample track:

you guys got me to plug into the little port on my WA7 for this one   might have been one of the only times I have used it. got the medium spiral dots in, adds a bit more low end bump, taking a bit of brightness out.  perhaps could use a touch more sizzle.

magnificent.  can actually hear the relative spacial position of each person left right front back.
