NOBLE Savant Thread (Impressions, Reviews, Tours)

As we talked about this issue in Inearz thread, it all comes down to an individual ear anatomy    I have tried/tested multiple dozens of universal and custom IEMs, and still highly regard Savant as having one of the top most comfortable fitments (along with Westones and Oriveti) and having one of the best passive isolation (among universal IEMs, with a right eartip selection).  Of course, it's very subjective and relative to my ears.  Sometime I just reach out to grab Savant as an earplug to drown out the noise my kids make in the house :D

Ear plugs

I saw my brother in law working with a chain saw using shure se846 as ear plugs

If it works it works

Like John said he did have a chainsaw on him. That certainly would cut to the heart of any argument.

I wouldn't want to take family members money, and he wouldn't want me to spend money on him.  I don't think he has any Noble products, and he could afford a pair of Noble Ones in each bedroom, bathroom, garage and tool shed.     I think my sister still pinches herself from time to time, as she married a great guy, very nice, wouldn't harm a fly type personality.

My dad has a pair of K10 UA, first set to ever leave the confines of Noble.

My brother has a pair of K10 U

That about sums up the family tree and Noble products.

How about your lovely wife John? I would've thought she'll have a very special pair of prestige K10s.

No, my wife has some one of n6 (shell color change) and a face plate that matches her purse colors. She also has a signed pair of k10ua (only set ever done like that)

I have a one off set of k10 ua, never been shown before

But neither of us have ciems/prestige

The time suck is huge in the prestige, probably around 40hrs (cnc time 24hrs) in them so i wouldnt want to use that time on something personal

The cnc is turned on, runs all day and all night.

Wow! I didn't know the Prestige takes up that much time. Really thought it was more on the value of the materials used.
I now understand the significance of Noble's decision to go with CNC'd aluminium shells for K10 universals.

Neither did I, indeed, wow!

John, it would be great if you can mention this on your Prestige page (http://nobleaudio.com/en/shop/prestige/).  I actually had quite a few PM discussions after my Savant review with people asking me questions about the pricing, including regular vs Wizard difference, and I'm sure many people will appreciate additional info about how much work goes into Prestige series to explain its premium price (not just the exotic material, but the actual labor).

Imagine what it costs to run a cnc machine then imagine how much a company would want their machine to earn per hr to cover those costs and to turn profit, then imagine reserving that machine to make one part for 20 hrs. U then get an idea why a prestige is expensive and if anything could be considered reasonable especially compared to other ciem options on the market today

To cnc a set of k10U-a requires about 2 hrs, of milling time. But the machines that are used to mill the K10 ua have multiple milling heads, so although it takes two hrs to mill, several housings can be made within those two hrs. Despite that the same math applies, operating costs to run the machine, then expected earnings for that machine
To cover those costs plus margin

+1000000 from me. I've always been interested in how ciems are made. Seen a few videos from other ciem makers but I would love to read more about the Prestige process.

I did. And it is only my opinion based on my personal sound preferences, but I did not enjoy those two together. It sound very sharp and aggressive on trebles. I found my iP6 better partner for Savants, than DX90. But again, it is only my opinon, other may not agree and will like DX90 with Savants.
