NOBLE Savant Thread (Impressions, Reviews, Tours)

I run fully balanced for my home system and it makes a HUGE difference for me.  I've heard the Pono in my home system running balanced and it sounded excellent for the cost.  I will be getting Tidal soon, so I want that in a player.  Worst case, maybe I should just get a DAC/Amp and run Tidal off my iPhone. Does anyone know if the new 6s Plus will be able to output true high res off their lightning output?  If so, are there some strong balanced Dac/amps out there that I should possibly be looking at?

I believe it does. And yes you can pair the iPhone with a dac/amp that has balanced out but it's still expensive.
You can ask more about it here: http://www.head-fi.org/t/725677/centrance-mini-m8

By the way, if you don't want to pay import taxes for your Noble order there's an authorised dealer in Melbourne.

Thanks for the reply.  Any suggestions on Amp/Dac would be great as I'm new to portable audio.

I don't understand the last part as I'm in the US and already have the Savants as of yesterday.

Ooops sorry my bad... please disregard that.

The link that I provided will have the information you need.
I'm pretty sure the subscribers in that thread can point you to the right direction as they usually post comparisons and such.
Good luck! I hope you find the best option for your setup.

Could go for the GeekOut V2+

dac/amp, balanced and single ended output, iOS compatible.

On the pricier side could go http://www.aloaudio.com/amplifiers/continental-dual-mono

Let me check these all out. If I spend the extra 200 on my new iphone, I can get the 128gb and just easily manage the music I hold on my phone from there.

I love reading your review my friend. I can honestly relate to a lot points you've expressed in regard to this hobby of ours...

As for the Savant's sound, you've nailed one of its most notable characteristics that I admire:
"The imaging performance is also very good. Listening to both studio and live recorded tracks leaves you with a very good impression, and this imaging performance is mainly the reason why the Savants sound so natural, effortless and dynamic in it's presentation. "

Thank you so much for joining the tour. I'm glad that your time with the Savant was more than satisfying.

The more I zoom in the better they look!

Thanks mate! I hope it doesn't come across as a negative review. I enjoyed the crap of the Savants and think that they are a absolutely brilliant headphone. It's just that price point will always scare the crap out of me.

Here are my impressions of the Savant. Sorry for the late post.

Pretty enjoyable read. One question though: Can you compare it to the K10 more please?
I felt like K10's bass was a lot more visceral and hard hitting while the mids were richer and highs a bit more lively compared to the Savant (impressions from a short listening session at a noisy audio show).

Thank you. But unfortunately I don't have the K10s anymore :frowning2:

Admittedly, what I wrote above is not entirely true.
I listened to them for maybe 15 minutes in a noisy audio show so I can't say much except for the fact that I was impressed by both of them.
Also, I have to admit that the mids, highs, decay, and more are all different (in other words, the Savant's not exactly a baby K10 imo).

I'll head to have a serious audition next weekend or so since I'm really considering both as what could be my next iem.
Cheers.

I've been using the Savant for a couple of weeks now. They sound better each day but despite the huge choice of stock hear tips, I couldn't find one that fits my hears properly.

The main issue is that my hears are basically genuinely 24/7 active wax factories. Which causes the Savant to slip out of my hears or make the seal inconsistent after a minute or so. This occurs even more while walking or standing, which I do a lot.

I'm looking for advices for hear tips working with the Savant. Probably a double flange model, but with better rigidity and deeper insertion than the stock model. I'd say that my hears size are between medium and large (with red stock tips).

Thanks

I had the same problem with universal IEMs falling out of my ears. Spin Fit all the way.
