Noble Audio - Introducing KATANA

Yes i read and get it. And thats why I say its a smart way of them to market these new flag IEM.

Look we have changed the housing, now use these cool proprietary drivers and MORE petite. plus purchased a new production facility to boot. All this for you with just 2 drivers less and 200$ more LOL

Customizing drivers costs money and the CNCing costs more compared to the K10.  Add in the shiny new toy tax and how TOTL iem prices are increasing every day and you get $1850.
Also, drivers aren't that expensive.

  Shots fired.
Or should I say campfired?
Anyways, if we're playing that game, there's a 2 BA per side acrylic shelled IEM that twister6 recently reviewed that costs ~$1262.

I gotchu fam, post has been edited.

Hmm, I haven't read or heard about that one. I just want people to be fair if they want to criticize prices.

Drivers are expensive, when the MOQ's are set in the thousands....

I meant the price of an individual driver isn't that high.
Anyways, bulk ordering should lower unit prices, not raise them?

Yes, but if your drivers are customized, they will cost more than a driver that is already being produced, and the MOQs will be higher than drivers that are already in production.

I don't think people realise how much work is involved in developing a product, then getting it manufactured (with consistent quality!) and produced, then marketed, customers serviced and issues dealt with. I believe there are now DIY kits or parts for people who don't want to pay more than the cost of the parts, tweezers, glue and a soldering iron.

The universal fit ' HUM Pristine Reference' iem w 2 BA's is actually $1,699.00 with an acrylic shell. For me it has come down to 1)tuning 2)materials used 3)Customer support. Noble Audio checks all these boxes for me with their products. I wish they were made in the USA too but I can't have it all. I look forward to the impressions of the Katana!

EDIT: That's SGD 1,700, which equates to ~$1262.
Shhh... you don't want to get banned. Or invite the HUM lynch mob over.

Oh okay, thanks for the correction!:thumbsup_tone2: After having lived with the Campfire Audio Andromeda it has been the perfect blend of clarity (in every sense) without sibilance. Maybe the Katana will take this type of tuning to another level?

The universal line has all the money going to USA companies. So they kind of are made in the USA.

made =/= designed and based in
That's like saying since Apple is based in the US, iPhones are made in the US.

It is my understanding, and I can very well be wrong, that the Universal iem's parts are from/machined in the Good ol US of A while actual assembly is outsourced overseas....
