Haha, yeah sure, it's already been a while since the last time I got "Wow" in audio world, and Katana is definitely deserve that "Wow' response. (Well, and sony Z1R too actually, but that's for another story)

Would you mind talking about soudstage/depth/airiness?

I'm dying to find out! Especially in comparison to the K10, the Adel U12/A12, and/or full size headphones like the HD600 or the Alpha Primes? If you could that would be aaahhhmazing

AIriness feeling, pin point imaging, separation (air between instrument) are things that really special in Katana, so I'm sure you will have no problem there.

However, comparing iem to any open back headphone is really hard to do, HD600 is simpy an open headphone, with so many holes inside, definitely there's no iem in the world that can match any airiness of it. But, if you talk the technicality like detail, imaging, speed, accuracy, black background, then Katana wins easily.

K10 vs Katana will have a good fight, both have their pros.

Imagine Katana is something more to accuracy, neutral (with slight warm feeling), microscopic sparkle treble (more detail than K10 indeed), slight forward vocal which is very good to bring emotions, and speedy tight bass. I really like how this iem produce bass, it feels like you holding on a bullet in your hand, it's not a big in quantity, but fefinitely you feel the weight and high density of it with tight precision of decay. Hint words: neutral, accuracy, detail, clean, musical.

K10 is more to big and bold sound, bass is definitely on big side, while still being punchy with good speed, plenty of texture there, though I hear cleaner texture in Katana. Midrange is a bit on relax, take few step away from Katana (like 2 rows), having thicker body, and more forgiving to any mainstream songs. Treble still sparkle well, less some micro detail compare to Katana though. Hint words: Bass, musical, relax, meaty sound

Never tested Adel, cannot make any comparison for that.

Any chance you have auditioned the Rhapsodio Galaxy? Your description of the Katana seems to be pretty close to how the Galaxy sounds.

Never heard it, but i saw somebody already answer your question,

Katana vs Z1R? :) (where comparable)

For music I actually happen to prefer IEM over HP.

I only able to compare it in term of character (treble, mid and bass).

Z1R is heavy in bottom (in good way), full body midrange with intimate presentation, airy smooth and relax treble. Whiile Katana is on the lean side in this comparison, more neutral, more sparkle treble, smaller bass body.

Thanks. Listening to XBA-4 over Fidelio X2 right now precisely because of that - the bass (the whole lower mid-range actually) is nicely there but it isn't as tiring as with the big cans. Also IMO too wide soundstage can be tiring / makes it harder to focus on work etc.

And Z1R vs Katana resolution-wise? Just curious really..

The Katana univ protrudes less than nobles standard universal product.

That being said, they aren't something you would want to try to slide a motorcycle helmet over, if that is your goal

No, you'd need cut-outs for the IEM to ride your bike!
