I believe the point he is making is that Senn is getting closer and closer to announcing - looks like CES for sure.

Is the consensus that whatever the new Sennheiser HD editions are they will be announced at CES in the New Year?

Based on previous Sennheiser releases, could someone estimate the price of these new 'phones?

I'm trying to decide if I should get the HD650's now for cheap, or wait for the HD680's...

If you want an unreliable, speculative guess, I'd say the HD-650 MSRP will be around $500-$550, about the same as the HD-650 MSRP. Street will probably run $350-$400. I still think the HD-680 will be a refined HD-650, like the HD-600 was a refined version of the HD-580.

I think the new one will be the HD-800, which will come in around $1,000, like the other top-of-the-line headphones on today's market.

You have asked Sennheiser for more information, right? Like technical data, pictures, ...
Can't wait!

Well that would be the upcoming PXC300 ALE (Audiophile Limited Edition). Limited to 500 pieces, with maple wood and aluminium earcups, cream leather earpad and headband adornments courtesy of the BMW factory, high quality Equinox cabling and red velvet lined carry case - all built and packaged at Sennheiser in Ireland. Fritz Sennheiser himself graciously donated his time to sign the authenticity certificates for each and every one. Pirce? If you have to ask...
