NITSCH x Schiit Magni Piety - Impressions Thread

My MagPie (yeah, that's what I'm calling it. Fight me!) shipped to my home in Canada! Thanks @CEE TEE! I've also ordered a 4-way switch so I can do some quick comparisons with the Vali 2++ and Magni 3+. I'm mostly looking forward to chilling out under the HD650's to some great music for a few hours. That's what this is all about for me: listening to the music, not the equipment - at least after the first week or 2!

Congrats! Looking forward to some early impressions.

As a fellow Canuck, curious to know what the damage was for customs / duties?

Worked out so far around $200 CAD for the Magni Piety and $60 CAD for shipping, my guess is that customs/duties probably would be around $30-40 making it just shy around $300 CAD total ($224 USD).

I will update you with actual numbers once I get my unit lol.

Ugh. Us Canadians always get fleeced so bad relative to our American friends.

Mad truth. Courier companies are the worst for hosing on shipping and fees. Taxes take another 15%. The exchange rate is terrible, but not the worst it’s been. I remember when the Canadian dollar was worth .64 relative to the US dollar

The low for CAD was 0.6198 USD on 18-JAN-2002.

Ah, right. I remember .64 because when I ordered an expensive telescope and mount around that time, that was the rate.

I'm still waiting on my shipping notification. I ordered from Apos less than 5 minutes after it went live.

I got my shipping notification today. It's scheduled to arrive next Tuesday. I should get a text in a couple of days letting me know that my tax and other charges are ready to be paid. I'll post that number here for my fellow Canucks as soon as I have it.

I just got a set of Dethonray Tender 1 planar IEM. They need a LOT of power and at this early stage seem to be more amplifier dependent than I have ever experienced before.

Looking forward to getting my Piety to try them on.
