I would guess that the Violectric DHA V590.2 would be very close to being ideal for most of the people searching for an excellent DAC/amp at the level of the Nimbus. I haven't heard it.

Seriously, why would you wanna waste energy by leaving it on? And capacitors have a limited shelf life as well.

No problem, unless you live near a crater, it's placed on top of a stone oven while you make pizza or you are using it to control your barbecue grill.

If I know I will have some good ol' sanctuary days just for me, I leave it on during that time. Or if I have 2 consecutive days of homeoffice, the same applies. Other than that I keep it off as it's just wasting energy.

I shut Niimbus off when I'm not using it, unlike the Yggdrasil, which stays on all of the time.

Considering upgrading from my Ferrum stack. Has anyone had the opportunity to try out both the Nimbus (4 or 5) and the Violectric v550 (or v590)? If so could you tell me whether the nimbus is a substantial upgrade over the Violectric, especially in terms of dynamics/impact?

Been enjoying my Niimbus US5 Pro for a year now. Have it paired up with a Utopia and Atrium, but inquiring any Susvara or 1266 Phi TC owners on their pairings with the Niimbus? I want bass that goes deeper than the Utopia/Atrium.

I also get the crackling noise in the right ear cup- different than the volume pot clicking sound. It usually goes away after a second or two and does not happen when playing music. Hopefully not a sign of any issues but it doesn’t seem to be.
