I often refer to my MD players as "Microdisco," due to my mom's misinterpretation of the name of the website, minidisco.com one christmas.

Rio Karma is generally referred to simply as "Karma," as though it is a first name, or occasionally, "The MP3 Player That Will Not Die."

My old iPod 5G is nicknamed The Brick. Because it's big, heavy, and the hard drive makes a continuous clicking noise that sounds a lot like bricks dropping on linoleum.

Oh actually, now that I think of it, my Rio players all used to have nicknames I assigned to them in Rio's music manager software. The way the program formatted their names made it kind of fun:

my 20GB Karma was "licious" so it showed up as "Karma-licious"
The Nitrus was "Oxide"
and the Carbon was "based lifeform."

Now my 60GB Karma is kind of boring, it's just called "Ultra 60."

"Mentalo"

I call my HTC HD2 "Mentalo", because it answers all of my important questions.

My iPod Touch is simply named "iPod Touch"
My main portable audio device, the Zune HD 32GB is named "Rory," after Rory Gilmore of the "Gilmore Girls." Yes I'm a guy and I love the show and I'm not afraid to admit it :)

I tend to refer to any portable music device I'm carrying with me as "my Walkman", regardless of brand or technology, but I think that might be an old habit rather than a real nickname.
