New- Zishan Z1 DSD player thread

The volume maybe doubles when you remove the resistors. I don't know about the bass, I've removed the extra caps by now. If I were you I would make 2 pieces of 1cm cables, make them both U shaped, open the z1, turn it on at a low volume, put those cables on the ends of the resistors and short wire them. That's what it sounds like to remove the resistors. Let us know what you think.

Has anyone seen, or created, a schematic for the Z1?

Zishan Z1 firmware 0.3. Not a big update, just add new formats.

What's new:
add support for .m4a files (AAC or ALAC).

Where to download: Zishan's web drive:
http://pan.baidu.com/s/1jI5KD8a#list/path=/ZiShan Player 固件/Z1&parentPath=/ZiShan Player 固件
or

Instructions the same in this post:

Are these updates comprehensive or do I have to do them all in sequence. e.g., if my player is on version 1, must I install 2 then 3 or will simply installing 3 give me the latest firmware?

Hello.

I have a Zishan Z1 with opamp LME49720NA (LME49720HA is coming) and 0.3 firmware version. I have two questions:

1.- Using the Z1 as USB-DAC, has a delay (maybe 1 second) after starting a song, pressing the "next" button. I have Windows 7, I tested with USB 2.0 & USB 3.0 with a good cable. I test it with Foobar2000, PotPlayer and others players with the same delay. Any idea to remove this delay?

2.- I read that firmware v0.3 add support for .m4a files (AAC or ALAC). I test with some AAC files but Z1 freezes trying to read them and the diode is on and don't blink. Are you tested with .m4a files? What's configuration you use to convert files to .m4a (AAC) to play them with Z1?

Thank you very much for your support.

Has anyone been able to use Zishan Z1 as a pure DAC with sample rate higher than 41.1 and 48Khz? The only option I get from HiByMusic player on Android OTG output is 44100 and 4800. For the other sampling rates "The peripherals do not support sampling rates" is displayed. I have also connected it to a Windows 10 with Foobar and I can' t get a sound with High sampling rates.

Hey guys! Members of the famous russian audio forum think that dac sabre is probably fake because the original dac has big etched circle near down right corner(zishan has small one) and letter J is between of the two last contacts ( in origal J is located on the last contact. You can see difference on google pics. What you think about this thaught?

how to increase the buffer settings?
Go not preferences, go to out put, there you can adjust the buffer. Also check the input for sample rate. Same if you us dsd, go to the sacd section and check what the sample rate is. If you still have problems, consider adding the ram disc component so you can buffer the file that you are listening to, this a buffer that you select the amount of ram, and then you add the music file to it, no hard drive access delays using this.

@Joe Bloggs - Do you know if it's possible for HiBy to work with Zishan, and possibly implement the HiBy Link in a Z1 (if it can have Bluetooth added), to allow control of the screenless DAP with a phone or tablet?
