i read here it has apps.... but everyone claims the opposite. So not sure :frowning2:

"The Lotoo will be Roon/ and Tidal certified, which means it can serve as a Roon endpoint and thus streaming services can be used. Tidal will run natively on the device with no additional hardware."
This was an information shared during High-End Munich. No mention of apps but Tidal support. That was in May, so things could have changed since then. As Lotoo OS is Linux based, I don't think there will be apps in the classical sense. It could simply be directly integrated in their native player software. We'll see once it arrives next week.

Next week? NEXT WEEK? YAYYYY!

(that is what I was told, too! Hope it still holds.)

It's on the way and I hope to get it next week. I'll do an unboxing and review and will try to let as many people test as possible.

I confirmed with Lotoo that the unit I tested back in May at High-End Munich had pretty much final hardware which was optimized since then. So my sound impressions are still valid.

Mjolnir is going to be my office workhorse for future gear evaluations.

We are looking reading your listening impressions.

I hope the 2 kg extra V/S others TOL DAPs is justified by its musicality compared to the say AK3000, 320MAX, Cayin M30le….

it had dual 4499ex dacs. now it’s single 4499eq. that must have changed something, and i truly hope for the better.

Cross-posting here from the Watercooler thread... (full post with the FIR audio IEMs and Orpheus)

WOW.

XE6 + Mjolnir sent my brain to happy heavens and gave it a whole Hallujeah moment. RN6 was okay with Mjolnir, but it just didn't seem as magical as the XE6. It felt almost too safe of a sound signature after listening to the XE6. I suspect that is largely due to my brain being brainwashed by that one singular moment with the XE6. :)

I also tried the Mjolnir with the Traillii and that was absolutely delicious combo too, really in love with Mjolnir for its capabilities. To me, the winning point is that the sound came through so cleanly and neutral. I think my Traillii has never sounded better going through this!

I admittedly couldn't put this device out of my mind ever since I tried it. I think I'll have to revisit the shop with my other IEMs and truly make a decision if this is something I want to add to my collection.

Was that a sample unit too? I couldn't turn the breathing light off. Hopefully that will not be the case with a retail unit.

I understand that the Mjölnir uses full size SX-XC memory cards instead of the usual Micro-SD cards.

So, since they are bigger than the Micro-SD... can we find (or expect soon) some 2 Tb SD-XC cards ? if not, what is the highest capacity SD card, and who make it ?

thanks

Several Lotoo DAPs use full size slots, but you simply use an adapter on it for use with micro.

As for 2TB card, unlikely. But Micron make a 1.5tb card.

Highest capacity micro SD card and SD card ( SDXC ) are 1024 TB. In 2 years we will have 2 TB SDXC cards
I will recommend only SanDisk Extreme or Ultra cards as they are the most reliable and have the fastest speed data transfer.
