Maybe, but Roon put out a recent public notice of their collaboration with AK - they haven't done that before as far as I know.

I honestly don’t understand why it’s so difficult to integrate roon. Cheaper daps (1/6) whose prices are 1/6 are able to do it. There’s no excuse for this.
I'll bet it's about licensing fees, ie., $$$

Again, funding shouldn’t be an issue when we talk about AK who makes TOTL daps and most likely makes immense amount of profits.

wow this is encouraging to say the least. hope this isn't something old that's just been sitting there though site does say 2021
This is new. I went through all available roon ready devices only two weeks ago. Searching for a nice player for my home headphone setup. And Astell+Kern wasn't mentioned there. It is real news.

I had been periodically looking at Roon's site for updated "Roon Ready" devices in my search for a portable DAP to integrate with my setup. Like others, I purchased an A&K device (SR15) with the understanding that an upcoming update would enable Roon integration (as advertised at the time I purchased both Roon and my DAP). Yesterday, I noticed A&K was on the partners list. I don't believe it was there last time I checked. That's why I posted the link an asked for an update. Dead horse or not, I am hopeful.
Has anyone had a chance to compare sp1000 to hiby R8? Just sound comparison i mean tonality, technicalities?
