New TOL A&K DAP : the AK Ultima SP1000

What i'm trying to say is when i connect the headphone amp via USB to the mac it works, but when i try to connect the SP1000 to the headphone amp it does not work. Proving that the USB on the amp is fine and accepting a signal, but no audio from the SP1000 (using what i thought was the correct OTG lead) is getting to the amp (the amp display says no signal).
I happened to come across this. Is your Arche updated with the new firmware released in July 2020? It needs this to allow Android device to connect to use the Arche's DAC.

I do not believe it changes sound signature, more about output power, especially for harder to drive headphones.

Continuous? Depending of file type, sure. DSD and 24/196 are gonna use more power, MP3 much less. Higher volume will also run it down faster. But that sounds about right.

Not everyone will be using the SP1000 or SP2000 for 10 hours straight, I would say that the average user may use them at a max of 2-3 hours of constant listening on the go. 10 hours of the SP2000 with typical use is just fine.

The question was for continuous use. I wouldn't recommend anyone listen for 8-10 hours straight even at medium (whatever that means) loudness just for the sake of your ears. And, if you notice, as you listen the longer you go the more you incrementally up the volume. Speakers are one thing, but iems and cans are putting all that sound into your ears like an injection. As you get older you may find that you have injured your hearing.

Wondering if anyone with an SP1000M can help answer a question, please? I've just noticed a screw missing on my unit. Someone else told me they have a screw missing also, like in this picture. Do all SP1000M units come with a screw missing? I've always taken care of my player so to notice a screw missing is strange to me.

Anyone know?

Thanks

I would expect there to be a screw in the hole so.... If you know an AK repair office in GB, try them. If not, email or pm Jason here and he should be able to put you in the right direction.

No missing screws on my SP1KM. As @olddude said, contact @JasonNYC to see if you can get a couple. On quick inspection, it looks like a very small Torx head screw.

I've PM Jason here and he has resolved similar issues, not a missing screw, but has resolve a small problem for me. PM Jason, they should be able to take care of that.
