New TOL A&K DAP : the AK Ultima SP1000

@lolobisaudio I apologize, I have been away for the past week and am catching up now. As others have mentioned, we recommend Qualcomm certified quick chargers. A Quick Charge 2.0 or 3.0 certified charger would work well. The 2.0 are a bit cheaper and charge at the max rate, so no need to spend the extra money for a 3.0 charger if you don't need it for other devices.

One thing we have noticed is that the Samsung rapid chargers can be hit or miss sometimes. Since they use a different, but similar compatible technology, their chargers will not always quick charge the player.
Thanks for your answer. I will get a qc3.0.

Reading about the Quick Charge discussions around, does anyone still experience super quick charge cycle completion with also rather fast charge % depletion when playing music?

Any experience / advice appreciated.

Wanting to actually buy the new SP1000M GOLD...

When exactly will I be able to purchase it here in the USA,(Date)?

Ouote from a website...

"Get Warmer and Vivid Sound with the brand new gold plated brass housing
With the same DAC combination, AK aim to further improve the audio quality of A&Ultima SP1000M Royal Gold by utilizing new material for the housing framework. After prolonged study, gold plated brass has been picked to improve grounding performances, thus providing a more vivid and warm sound signature. While the Golden surface is also important in reducing oxidization"
Preferring the ESS9038 over the AK4497 and liking the much better handling on the 5" screen size I would love a SE100 with a brass housing frame and the SP1000M amplifier section instead of the SP1000 one.

it would appear there is upsampling with the Android version. When using the SP1000 with optical to Hugo2 it looks like hifi is maybe 48k. MQA is unfolded to 88 or 96. The stock app is 44.1 for hifi and unfold to 88 or 96. It is still not confirmed by AK that there is a full decode on either the stock or apk app but there is an unfold. If Tidal is streamed with AK connect the MQA is confirmed as decoded by the blue or green dot. PLEASE correct me if I am mistaken.

My hope is that when it has Roon there will be full decode. Time will tell.

I was just about to ask the question about the full decoding stuff... I plugged my SP100M into my Hugo2 like you and it never changed past green, which confused me because I thought the SP1000M was supposed to fully unfold MQA...

Yes, I bought a 61W charger with 9V 3A output. Mine recharges while playing music in less than two hours. Any 18W 9V 3A charger would do the same. I bought a multi Micro USB port charger that also charges USB C laptops, so that why it’s 61W.

I could be wrong but I don’t think optical can’t sent bit for bit DSD.

Is your MQA track 96 or 352 sampling ?

Are you having trouble installing an app that you had installed before?
It’s a brand new spk. I have never installed anything. It’s just that I thought that the qobuz app was approved by A&K and it does not seems to be.

Qobuz can be installed via Open App. I use Qobuz for multiple hours as day on both the SE100 and SP1000M. I apologize if you mentioned it before and I missed it, but what specific issue are you having?

After copying the qobuz apk in the open app directory, when I try to install it on the Dap I have a security alert saying that it can damage the sp1000 and it’s on my own risk if stg happens
